. Lewis is clearly frustrated with the car and is having to push it more than he should in order to get any kind of respectable result, hence the mistakes.

Maybe but the mark of a GREAT driver is to make the most of what he has, without pushing too hard, just like Alonso does. This is the 1st time in years that Hamilton has had an inferior car and he is looking no more than a decent driver at the moment.

Plus, as I said yesterday, to everyone wanking themselves silly over Jenson Button - WHERE WERE YOU LAST YEAR?

Suggesting preseason that he partnered Hamilton instead of Kovalanein. Can't be arsed to do it but if you look hard enough you'll find it. :p

He's 23 years old. He's going to make mistakes. Of course he is. But he made CONSIDERABLY less than Massa last season and thoroughly deserved the championship. He certainly wasn't "making mistakes every other race." For me, Lewis is better than Jenson and, with 5 or 6 years on him, will only get better and better. He's already a world champion, winning in what I considered not to be the best car. Alonso edges him on consistency I grant you, but that's because Alonso is also a class act.

Lewis is supremely talented for his age, already one of (if not THE) best driver, already a world champion, and as you say f***ing exciting. Combine that with being British and you have someone who is, for me, impossible not to support and enjoy.

Spot on, absolutely spot on. This is only Hamilton's third year in F1, and he's only now making mistakes regularly, as they said before the race, he'll learn more from this year than the previous two, and he'll be better for it in the future. You can't expect him to perfect within a couple of years, life just doesn't work like that.

Spot on about Jenson Button aswell, it's glory supporting to be fair. And I'm just as guilty, I thought he was rubbish last year, I really did and I was saying to a friend that if I were Honda, I wouldn't have renewed him at the time. But now he's in a quality car it's suddenly become clear to me that he is actually absolutely brilliant, I hadn't realised before and I do have massive respect for him now. But I'm going to pretend I hadn't rated him in the slightest for the last few years!

Before today Fernando and Lewis had exactly the same points, so how do you come to the conclusion that one is doing such a better job than the other? In fact, let me revise that, without the Australia shenanigans, Lewis has MORE points than Fernando.

The McClaren is a better car than the Renault
