This guys face just doesn't get less punchable.

How depressing to have such a shit job all you do is make up fairy tales every day !
Depends what the wages are like. Suppose they're, say, £50K a year without leaving home? - hmmm ......................... where do I apply?

I’d be utterly dismayed if he goes in the next week. I’m mentally prepared for the inevitable summer departure but I really want the chance to enjoy another half a season of this amazing talent.

Hold the line, Tony. Let them all try in the summer and let’s get a real bidding war going.

Hope he stays would be nice to get a settled squad and go for it next season with a few additions. He’s good but is he £100m good? Personally I would want Kevin DB or a Zidane or maybe a Pirlo for a £100m. He’s physical, passes well although he’s not providing defence splitting passes every game.

He’s not that sort of midfielder who pings passes around the pitch and waits for the defence splitting pass. He’s a midfield engine who makes playing against very hard work. The game you could really see how good he was was against Arsenal where he was suspended. We looked so much weaker in midfield for that game. Arsenal could play through us no problem. It was such a big wide gaping hole not having him there for us it made me realise just how important he is. We’ll be a different team if he goes. Any European hopes will be sold off if he goes. You just don’t come across a potential Roy Keane on every scouting mission. He’s an absolute gem of a ball winning midfielder. Arguably the best in the league already. Such a shame a talent like that plays less games for us than a loan signing.

Based on his current ability and age, he is £100m good for sure. If he never improved and gave 10 years of this level he'd still be a £40-£50m player. My view is that he'll almost certainly improve.

Let's all agree he's at least 100M to Chelsea as their manager literally said he was worth that before and he's only improved/gained experience since.

75M does sound about right to everyone else though given defensive midfielders, like full backs seem to have a bit of a ceiling.

The trouble is clubs of Albion’s stature rarely achieve the fee that it’s obvious the player will almost immediately be worth as soon as they cut it in a Champions League side. It’s good that we try hard to get that full value, rather than let the rich club gain so much benefit. Cucurella was a decent example. I think we got what he’d be worth after playing regular matches for Chelsea and fulfilling his full potential. It’s such a shame for them that he now looks much less of a player than he did for us.

It's not a shame....it's perfect.

No. We got way over the odds for Cucurella whatever.
He got his move on the back of one decent half season. City valued him at £30 - 40m and that was top end. He has been found out.

No....fck it....he is a diamond.....it is £100m to everybody.
If they want our prized assets, they are going to have to dig deep. Declan Rice is going to command a massive fee. Why shouldn't Caicedo.
Fck the lot of them.

He hasn't been found out though has he?

He's only been found out if now is the very best he'll ever be, which clearly isn't the case.
Assuming Chelsea do finally get their shite together, he's more likely to be a big part of that than not.
If that were the case £63m could well (and inexplicable) look like a bargain.

Fingers crossed Chelsea settling down and getting their jigsaw back together is still a long way off.

Looking at his astonishing defence splitting passes leading to goals against Chelsea and Everton I actually believe that he can pass like KDB:

The pass/assist for our first goal here is utter world class.

He defends like Bissouma and passes like KDB. £100m is fair if you look at the market currently (Grealish is a good example).

Zindane in his pomp in 2023 is worth north of £150m/£200m by the way.
