Beyond furious 😡

Don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, trust that whatever TB does will be what’s right for the club

My lad (9) has just come in- seen that going across the bottom of the screen and kicked right off !! 🙄

PS - I am sure we would have a good backup in place but this is getting me anxious. If Caicedo and Trossard then why not Mitoma? And Sanchez? And Ferguson?
Ilic is the man. The plan, my understanding of it, isn't that we simply buy kids. Pervis is the perfect example. We bought him as a player who was more established than Cucu was when we signed Cucu. It's small increments. But someone like Ilic- playing regularly in Serie A, international for a European team, 21 rather than 18/19 seems to be a slight improvement on Moises at the point of signing. Will be better? Maybe not, but we use the successful risk and reward of Moises to sign someone slightly lower risk. I don't know if that makes any sense...but I'm certain if Moises goes there'll be one or two signings of slightly older more established players.

Just point blank refuse to do business with Chelsea at this point, vile club.
It's Chelsea, dammit!. They have to get Caicedo. They just have to. Or Liverpool. Or City. It doesn't really matter which...

There are only Six Actual Teams™ in English football, and to try and maintain otherwise is to contravene the natural order of things.
It's an attack on all that is right and holy.

Nothing surprising in this. Brighton knew it was coming with the agent change. Chelsea have literally released this the day of the agent coming in. What a coincidence.

Remember Chelsea refused to go over £75m for Enzo. So, this window it should be £90m lump sum or f off.

What is a little bit sad is that winstanley will know the player so must be fairly sure he's up for the move now. Doesn't mean we should give it to him though.

I'd be disappointed if he left before the end of the season but this is our operating model and it's not going to change. It's not a lack of.ambition, it's a commercial reality when so many other clubs have much more money and little interest in running sustainably. I suspect the clubs are Chelsea, Newcastle and Liverpool.

I've never hated a club as much. Even when we were kettled down that side street at Selhurst after the 0-5 I never hated Palace like this.
haha, yes I remember this. I was remarkably sanguine about it. Probably because I was happy to at least be playing Palace again (plus still in shock from the 0-5 and just missing a bottle thrown at me, in the ground, by the Palace bellends). Dislike Chelsea immensely now, and in fact never disliked Palace (a mate is a fan of theirs) because I always loved the drama involved vs Palace, probably because the 5 penalty game was my first visit to that shithole.

It should just be f off. There is no amount that can help us in this season if we deconstruct our midfield and literally hand out our best player to a divisional rival (they really are atm. Get with the times). He'll still be worth that In June /July.

£100m paid to us now (as a down payment) and then another £100m in the summer by Chelsea and they can have him for next season.

Oh - and we get a 50% sell on fee!

Sadly he probably won't be worth 90/100m in the summer. It will be a more reasonable 20m so the club have to weigh up the pros and cons of that.

Under normal circumstances I wouldn't see us selling him at this time. But (a big but) Chelsea obviously have loadsamoney at this moment and are desperate so I think we may because they will pay an extra £10m, £20m, £30m, £40m more than any other club?

At some point, aren't we going to have to say that achieving something as a football club (i.e a 7+ place finish) is more important that an extra £10-30m in the bank account?

I agree with this but am prepared to trust TB knows best , my view I totally expect to see the response “ no not now” but if we sell I would expect there to be a bigger picture beyond my ken. However surely Europe challenge with Caicedo on board is the priority?

Agreed. Unfortunately the club have very publicly said they won’t stand in the way of players or staff moving on - they do caveat at a time that suits everyone, and I really do hope Bloom says he won’t be sold at any price this window.

Sounds like Winstanley trying to stir the pot, how unprofessional to make such comments, it’s amazing how people in high places act when they feel impervious.

I’m going to relish Chelsea crashing and burning so much.

Definitely. It's slow not like we'd be losing out. Just suspending for a few months where there may well be a bigger bidding war anyway. There are no winners selling him now. Not even for moises himself. If he holds kn a few months he will have even more suitors. Almost certainly arsenal if they win the league. There's a good chance neither Chelsea or Liverpool make the CL. So what does he have to gain. Wait yo the summer and take your pick and then we have 3 months to spend the 150m 🧐

Basically, Sky News "break" the story that Chelsea and Liverpool want to buy Caicedo, but go on to say that Brighton are under no pressure to sell, and don't want to sell.

Maybe the story actually is "Brighton aren't selling Caicedo despite interest from other clubs"

At least that's my hope!
Yeah. News is, by its definition supposed to be new isn't it? I've been reading this for a month.
