I know that we are brilliantly run club and with our system have been able to lose players (and staff), replace them and on some occasions improve on the older models......... whilst making buckets of money

Although I have some fears and wonder how long we can keep losing players and getting 'lucky' with our replacements, its not like we are losing 1 or 2 players a year, we are losing A LOT of first team players to the vultures. Without mentioning staff:

Cucu
Biss
Trossard
White
Burn
Ryan
Mwepu (cant be helped)

And next year potentially
Caicedo
Mac

Hopefully we can keep up replacing them but I fear one day we end up with a few duds and being able to keep progressing and force our way into top 6 or 7 club.

I doubt Lallana, Welbeck and Dunk have many miles left on the clock either.
Ryan was dropped, hardly ‘lost him to vultures’ 😂

Thinking about that list we have upgrades on the first 3 and Ryan, do ok for centre backs and Mwepu was not lost to any vultures. All seems to be going OK after all.

I really can't agree that Dan Burn was 'lost to the vultures' - it was a compassionate act by us to let our 4th-choice CB join his boyhood club at a good price for a player of his age and in his contract situation.

This is well worth reading the thread on Twitter just for the Chelsea fan’s comments.

Apparently, we’ll never sell him if he’s that price, we’re greedy, he can stay at Brighton then, he’s not worth that much, 35 million tops.Brighton have broken the transfer market.😂😂😂😂😂
Like the one that says they shouldn’t let us bully them! 😂

We are doing fine, thats my point..... my concern is how long can we can continue to lose so many great players and replace them with equality great (or better) players.

Let's be real, we are turning over an awful lot of players and staff. So far we've handled it all great.

I'm not panicking yet, just voicing a concern that if we continue to lose our best players how long is it plausibly or physical possible to keep doing so well with replacements.

Estupinan is ripping it up at the moment and left footed LB's are gold dust. We lost Cucu and hes slotted in seamlessly in his place, which is an incredible bit of scouting but if we lost him next season too it would be remarkable to find a 3rd world class left footed LB in as many seasons.

Im not saying every player was lost to 'the vultures', i.e Mwepu and Ryan but a lot of players and staff have!

I thought Ryan was a great keeper, the point was we hit gold losing him as we then promoted Bobby who's been even better! Again, great scouting and great luck.

I agree..... again don't get hung up on the phrase 'lost to the vultures' a lot of players and staff were but the point was we've lost a lot of great players and staff in the last couple seasons. It's just a logical concern.

In the long run, we are all dead.

But while we are alive, buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Previously we lost a decent player every few years......because that's all we had that was decent to lose. The White sale exceeded all previous player sale income combined, ever. Just one sale. Then we topped that a year later. And we still keep winning. This is different gravy Brighton and Hove Albion, now.

Trust the owner and enjoy.

I definitely trust the board, ultimately if a player want's to leave we cant stop them, we can just maximise the price. Again were terrifically ran club and we do well to keep our business private too.

Decent players are a lot easier to replace than world class and world cup winning players, especially as we are not just trying to stay in The Premier League these days but become an established top half club, with dare I say..... hopes of European football.

I didn't read the article but I am guessing we haven't quoted a price?

The press love to throw numbers around and make up the selling clubs price in the hope that they are right.

Of course if someone has quoted PB or TB as giving a figure I am happy to stand corrected.

other way round, Potter put Sanchez in and dropped Ryan, Ryan left because he was no longer first choice.

I normally ignore these quotes, but it’s the more reliable Times with the £100m figure insanely large and proper for a 21 year old star. The Standard are reporting that Arsenal are interested too. Not sure about that as they have several CM’ers already and the media seem to think that they’ll beat Chelsea to Rice.
