MM - Now we are in the relegation zone, should he go?

OK, one of the main arguments for keeping MM was that he hadn't put us in the relegation zone. Now, he has.

The team (according to the Southampton commentary) played well, but were tired. MM failed to make substitutions (brought on Jarret for a striker, then gave Gatting 2.5 minutes). I know he has had constraints, but I no longer care. We have handed over three points in the last 5 minutes more times than I care to remember, when it could have been better to try to hang on to the single point for the draw.

MM has done well in the past, he has worked wonders. Now, he is not doing the job, he has had some miracle results (winning at Palace) but the rest of the season has been appalling.

His man-management is lacking - Leon is so alienated that he will probably leave. Today, he played a keeper that he had publicly ridiculed and left arguably a better keeper on the bench.

Time to go, and no I can't find a better manager, but I am not paid to. Dick Knight is the bloke who has that job, and I am sure that he will find someone.

So you would sack him BECAUSE others teams around have won?

Come off it, we have been in and out of the relegation zone several times this season, and other seasons, without calling for the manager's head on a plate. With limited resources, we can expect this sort of defeat and the others we have suffered. We can still stay up so no one should give up yet.

How does that make any sense at all?

If YOU are putting together an argument for replacing him, then for YOUR argument to make sense YOU have to complete the argument by saying who you think we should get in.

Martin O'Neil perhaps? Tch. Get rid of MM and we'd end up with Bassett and Wise, and then we may as well just all go home and cry.

Sack him. I'm fed up of his ego playing player out of position etc.
It seems to be all about him.

Time for someone new.

Because some fool always says "well who else could do it - who would you have in his place".

I would sack him because we are losing! It doesn't matter than other teams win - we are now in the relegation zone, and we are running out of time.

How about waiting until the end of the season? We may not be relegated, we weren't last year and at times we were in the bottom 3. Talk about pressing the panic button. The squad was hardly set up for a play off challenge, and a narrow defeat against a team like the Saints is hardly reason for sacking someone.

Leon showed little commitment against Millwall if he's not going to guarentee getting 100% out of him in a difficult match why play him?

I wonder whether Kuipers being dropped has something to do with the Henderson situation. With him having a possibility of playing there again as well as Blayney perhaps being recalled if Niemi goes we may end up relying on searching out loan keepers again. We had that problem at the end of last season. With a match we're not expected to win why not try your other keeper to see if he is up to it rather than discover he may not be in the heat of a relegation battle further down the season.

Tactically I don't think there was much else MM could do today. Trying to hold on to 1-1 required experienced heads rather than youth and inexperience, which probably accounts for Jarrett coming on rather than the others.

We had difficulties in finding a manager several times previously and I would prefer to keep McGhee rather than be managerless. Surely he has signed a contract until Falmer so the club are unlikely to ditch him, well are they?

we had similar times last year and we weren't talking like this..... what's changed. We still don't have any money... still short of players... have had awful luck recently...... mcghee is doing fine and I don't think there is anyone better available.

f***ing HELL!

How about waiting until the end of the season as we "may not be relegated"?

We have dropped faster than a sky jumper without a parachute. People were saying, "we are not in the relegation zone" - now we are. The defeat is part of the reason - the manner of our defeats is another part of the problem. The lack of fresh legs when a team is tired is outright stupidity, even if those legs are reserve team legs - it's giving us a fighting chance.

MM has given us loads, and we are grateful for it, but week after week we are losing everything that he gave us - Millwall at home took our dignity, and this week it has taken our place outside the relegation zone. Enough is enough.

Abort, retry, fail
More often than not, teams with less money struggle. We will have to put up with this for the time being until Archer/Belotti regime no longer hampers our finances....

Sacking McGhee would be suicide.

We are still in the Championship and will fight tooth and nail the whole way. This might even be a blessing, perhaps an ultimatum from McGhee can release some funds....

how about giving the manager some support and not slagging him off every 2 minutes.

So what we are in the relegation zone? I was sure that teams are relegated in may not January.

GET BEHIND MCGHEE AND SUPPORT THE TEAM FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!

We have given the manager some support. He has done well, but now he is not, everyone comes to the end of their useful career, and I think that this season has seen MM reach the end of his.

Should we still be clapping as we head towards the foot of the table? Should we clap every defeat because he won't play certain players? Should we clap as he slags and ridicules players in the press and then puts them in the team?

At what point should we start to think that perhaps it is the right time for MM to go?
