Interesting. I'm not one for posting bullshit or rumours, etc. And people who know me know I'm right behind Slade. But a friend who knows people close to the club, who have been right about previous accounments, has also told me they'll be a press conference today, announcing the departure of Slade. I told him I wouldn't believe it until I saw it.

The postponing of the conference from 10am to the afternoon (whenever it was) sounds a little suspect though.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I hope this isn't true. As someone said if it is then it means that someone in the Press Office has broken confidence. I would be VERY surprised if this was the case, working in a Press Office means you are dealing with confidential matters every day.

But if it is, why on earth would Slade agree to mutual agreement? If he thought he was going to get sacked surely he would hold out for his contract to be paid up?

Sounds like bullshit to me.

People on this board take the piss out of Newcastle, Leeds, Chelsea etc etc for their managerial changes/bad running of the club but don't see we're EXACTLY the same. We're just a lower-league Newcastle in recent years. The difference is they've got 50,000 fans so probably have a right to demand some sort of success whereas we've got 5,000. Very few people are capable of stepping back and looking at us objectively. We're a shit club in a shit stadium with shit support in a shit league and some shit players. Right now, mid-table in this league is not a disgrace. Of course, when Falmer is close to opening and we want to attract bigger crowds then there needs to be more pressure on people to perform and harsher penalties if they don't, but right here right now we're a f***ing joke if we think we've got a right to sack managers after 13 games. This would be 3 in 18 months. Says it all.

Possibly the first time I have ever agreed with TCB. Absolutely spot on.

Point of order.

I just posted 3 times on this thread (it's quiet here this morning) and have just noticed that all 3 posts show the same total post count.

Is someone stealing posts? Does it happen to everyone or is it just me?

I think we should be told. Bozza out :tantrum:

No you fool, all of your posts always show your total post count, it doesn't show the order in which you post them.

How long have you been on here!?

I just realised that and deleted it, but you of ALL people have to go and make me look an idiot!

My only excuse is that I am not someone who studies their post count (normally!).

I'm going for a café con leche and a napolitana chocolate in the sun now to consider the error of my ways :shootself

As others have said that is absolutely bang on the money. Good to see you looking objectively and at the bigger picture.

At the risk of incurring a 'oooh, aren't you in the know...?' type bollocks, I've just had a phone call to have it confirmed in an absolute total confirmation kind of way that this story - to no great surprise - is 'a total crock of shit'.

However, one thing I can believe is that Lips does know one of the Press Officer's nephews, seeing as they are aged between two and seven.

Insider would have come on here to say as much, but is busy on other things. Like, in the real world.

no, your friend has no doubt read somthing here or got somthing third hand from here. it becomes a self perpetuating myth. the fact that Lips was supposedly told at 8am that the Press Conf was postponed, kinda proves its bull, or are we to believe his Uncle thought it most important to update him of what would be supposedly confidential info?
