Like. It has made both Mrs P and I laugh out loud on a number of occasions.

Gave first couple of this series a go but just can't stand it. Seems I'm in the minority but seriously without exagerating, one of the worst comedies in recent years! Still if we all liked the same things world would be very boring.

Can't say I go over the top on this one, but at least it's watchable. I can't think of another BBC sitcom from the last, say, 10 years that was worth making a second episode, but then I think that almost all BBC1 output is garbage anyway (I know this was on Beeb2) - dumbed down to the lowest posible denominator, and all that.

Watched this show for the first time on iPlayer yesterday and found myself laughing - lots, the bit in the Sushi restaurant especially.

Am I wrong to like this?

No mate... I think its fantastic... the female Hancock.

In order to keep the peace every bloke needs a light entertainment programme they can watch with their missus, and this - along with Strictly - is one of them.

at first i thought it was your classic female comedian saying 'i want a glass of wine' is funny type deal...

then i realised it was

but then it was a bit funny at points too. as long as she can avoid the woman-funny cliches (ie things that aren't funny because they are cliche) :)

She does a great line in self deprecation.

Watched it with my (ex) missus too and we were both expecting not too like the programme.

We were pleasantly surprised and made an effort to watch all the other episodes.

I like Miranda.

The programme's harmless and she is instantly likeable.

Im surprised it took this long fior the BIG question to come up! I would.

Her assistant in the programme I mean.

And Sally Phillips of course.

one arm is much browner than the other. she must moonlight as a cabbie. somewhere hot.

Compared to some of the SHIT sit-coms the BBC have dished up over the last few years ('Life of Reilly' and 'After you've gone' being two examples) it is a work of genius.

But yeah, it's never going to get voted Best Comedy Of All Time but I quite like it and there are some genuinely funny bits. Well worth watching.

The worst has to be Robert Lindsay degrading himself with canned laughter. From the man that gave us "Power to the People!"

Sic transit Miranda...

Yes and they actually tell JOKES about lesbianism. Risky...but not if you're a woman of course..

In an episode in the first series she was trying to buy some clothes to make her look feminine, she ended up, unknowingly, in a shop that specialised in Drag Queen/Transvestite clothing. Cue suitable hilarity, I found it very funny.

It's good fun, and deserves a decent run. And I'm not just saying that because I know a couple of the writers who contribute to it.
