Miranda - Guilty pleasure?

I didn't watch the 1st series but my wife raved about it so I gave it a go this time. Glad I did. I think its really funny.

Only discovered it about 3 weeks ago and its great. However, what makes it is simply Miranda Hart. The writing is good but its her sheer physicality that makes it stand out. Big geek bird has never been such fun.

I got home from work late last night and my wife had a mate round and she was staying over.

They were watching wall to wall Miranda on iPlayer. She finds it OMG hilarious, I find it amusing but wouldn't give it a second thought if it wasn't on. So in that sense, I think Miranda might be the female equivalent of Alan Partridge.

I love Miranda... and does does my duaghter... we laughed out loud at the singing at the funeral in Episode 2... in this sad, sad situation... don't sing!...

Good point about BBC and comedy maybe last 10 years. My family that I think was half mentioned was good for a couple of seasons but has been cringe worthy for many years, when I catch it at parents place anyway and just ogle Janey. They don't seem to have developed as many gems as say channel4 and the U.S. in recent times. Everywhere comes out with a miss or things that aren't to somebody's taste but well..... gonna stop rather than be so negative. That the trip I had high hopes for after first episode but then was shockingly boring and every episode seemed identical. Alan Partridge that was mentioned and fast show, those were the days!

I and the Mrs enjoyed it. Had me laugh out loud laughing last night. I also liked Not going out with Mack and Vine. Perhaps stand up comedians make good actors for sitcoms??

I watched the most recent episode on iPlayer last night, purely on the recommendation of nsc. Well that's the last time I listen to anyone on this thread. What an absolute festival of turd it really was. It's on a par with getting aids in terms of humour.

Watch the first 8 mins of episode 2 and then tell me it is not funny!
