I like the NCS as we are able to answer such softball questions late on a Friday night.
For me this is a clear and easy one. Football is a religion that gives some really brilliant footballers, and undeserving people, fame and fortune. However it also gives some incredible people a platform from which to spread their influence far beyond what they could have done otherwise. Cyril was one of those footballers, and his influence has changed the world in a very meaningful way. To celebrate that is to celebrate what the game itself can bring, and the character of the player that made it possible. As many others have said, applauding that is certainly not going to hurt.
We should also be proud that as a club we have had (and have) many payers and coaches that fit this mould, Chris and Inigo among many others. Perhaps we cannot expect fans from other clubs to have a minute of silence for them in the future, but I hope we will.
