Well, as iv'e stated before, good old Labour eh, building new schools and hospitals on their watch. Except that they were built on other peoples money, no investment from the massive borrowers. I worked on 3 schools in Crawley in the early/mid 2000's, Thomas Bennett, Ifield and Maidenbower, all built by HBG and paid for by HBG, then FOR 30 years they RENT the property BACK, including pens paper etc at a high rent.
Same goes for The Children's Hospital in Brighton that i worked on in 2005, built by a Japanese firm and EVERYTHING rented BACK on a 30 year lease. Nice one Labour leaving a massive debt as per.

It is a fact that the underlying trend of this unfolding scandal is that vulnerable white working class girls have been targeted by Pakistani gangs, and have taken place in areas of the country that are historically dyed in the wool Labour wards and constituencies.

To think that there will be no political fallout for the Labour Party in these areas is equally ridiculous............subject to how the media report these cases as they come to court, this will be a political train crash for the Labour Party as we lead up to the general election.

For an indication of what is happening in Labour's strongholds I would look further north, and the fact is that the SNP have provided an credible alternative to the Labour Party and an opportunity for the working class to give Labour a punch in the guts.

Granted in England there is not a viable socialist alternative like the SNP, however all the while these child rape scandals unfold in Labour wards and constituencies and implicates Labour councillors, MPs, Police Commissioners, Heads of Agencies and the like directly in their strongholds then the weaker they will be.

Your own view that it will not matter is symptomatic of the arrogance that many working class people feel exists in the Labour Party these days....................its almost a kind of "let them eat cake" attitude.

I forgot all about that as well. Don't forget the billions they wasted on the NHS IT Scheme and the money they wasted on these regional fire control centres. This list goes on and on doesn't it. I'm not saying it won't matter so it isn't arrogance. What happened was horrific but I'm just saying that I don't think it will have as great an effect on the vote as you seem to think. As for the SNP, there are currently only 6 SNP MPs at Westminster. What exactly would a vote for them be now? If part of the reason for independence was not to be governed by Tories then a tactical vote for Labour would help achieve that. Where Labour will suffer is the West Lothian question. CMD is using that to blind side Labour. If Lab support it as outlined by CMD then they could see themselves not being able to vote through policy that only affects England because they can't use the Scottish MPs. However, if they don't come to some kind of agreement then that will alienate the SNP Scottish vote further.
