Talk Sport had a 1 hour slot this morning on the situtation between Reading & Brighton. The general concensus was the Madjeski was a total hypocrite but had broken no rules.

Mike Parry hit the nail on the head when he said " You have to give great credit to the Brighton directors for keep coming up with great managers but it must be very demotivational to be playing your home games on a school playing field with a few temporary stands ".

We have lost 4 managers because of this and until we get Falmer we will keep losing them.

I think the Brighton fans have been very patient and DK has moved Heaven & Earth to get Falmer but unless we get something positive I think that patience will run out very soon.

I dread to think what will happen if we don't get Falmer.

Never mind hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, hell will have no fury like a Brighton supporter scorned !.

If Coppell goes I'd like Knight to make a statement on behalf of all the clubs who are getting f***ed over by the likes of Madjeski at the moment, pointing out that Coppell was under contract and shaming Madjeski and his hypocritical ways. This would reflect well on Kight and the club, and make a few people stop and think.

I thought we only did that because we are not a very attractive proposition and are incapable of poaching managers worth having from other teams. After Taylor resigned Dick tried to get Danny Wilson from Bristol City, but he wasn't interested.

Even if managers leave for other reasons (money, say), the stadium situation is a ready made plausible excuse for them to bail out.

Nobody can question a man who says, for example, the delays and training facilities 'just became too frustrating', when we feel exasperated about it ourselves. It's crippling us.

Even if Falmer is approved at the end of the year, we must be at least 2 years off it being built.
So that in my reckoning is another 2-3 managers.

However pissed off I feel right now, I don't think that Madjeski has been a hypocrite. After Pardew went, he said he would approach chairmen and if they said 'no', he wouldn't go for the manager. He approached DK, DK said he could speak to Steve so he did. If DK, had said he couldn't, I don't believe he would have done

He was only dis-interested when his chairman refused DK permission to speak.

DK has stated categorically that there is no such clause is in SC's contract. He has a policy of allowing managers and players to talk to other clubs.

I didn't believe that then and still don't. Believe even less that it's 'his policy'. After Horton walked out on us Knight was angrier than he has ever been since at being let-down and publicly berated the lack of loyalty. After that he maintained that his future 'policy' was to get managers that would stay long-term and buy into 'his vision'. This clearly hasn't worked given the nature of Adams and Taylors voluntary departures. Given this, do you honestly believe that Knight has adopted a new policy and actually welcomes overtures to his managers/players from other clubs

I cannot for one second believe that if the club has Coppell tied down contractually and Knight was under no obligation to give permission, that he would have allowed an approach.

If I am wrong and there is nothing on paper (as DK states) then I think he's being clever with his words and at the very least is honouring a verbal gentlemans agreement he struck with Coppell. Remember SC is well known for not having a contract at all when working for some previous clubs.

I suspect much is done on verbal agreements and a handshake.

It would be much easier for DK to say there was a clause and that was the only way Coppell would sign than to say there was no such clause but he let Steve speak to them anyway....

It just pisses me off that sooo many other teams like southampton, derby, sunderland, they get their grounds built no problem, but us we get all the difficulties, which is pathetic considering there is soo much unused, useless land around brighton! its a feckin joke

I think you are being a tad optimistic saying that we will be bottom of the first / 2nd division team without Falmer.

Without a proper ground we will slowly die. It's as simple as that.
