‘Jokes’ not just at the expense of Muslim people, but a ‘joke’ quite literally where the ‘punchline’ is that a Muslim life is not worth saving.

The decision to stand again was disgusting on his part, and disgusting on the part of the local conservatives to accept it.

Shameful.
Which councillor made these ’jokes’?

Interesting to note a contradiction in the narrative.

Israel say they didn't see this initial attack coming despite Gaza being one of the most surveilled places on earth and despite warnings from Egyptian intelligence that something was imminent and yet..Israel claim to somehow know the whereabouts of Hamas fighters and bomb them with "precision".

And SF has other accounts that post, albeit mainly, but not exclusively, on the score predictor thread.
I wonder if one of those second accounts controversially jointly won last year's?

Still voted in though?

IDF is a massive organisation which will include a number of bellends who will think it's big to sing songs. The vast majority are reservists who will be normal people. However, even nice normal people will react badly under pressure i.e. every time they walk a street are they going to be shot, bombed etc. Any British soldier will tell you that fighting such as the Falklands was 'easier' on the mind than walking the streets of Belfast in the 1980s...
The same could be said of Hamas. There will be mix of reasons why they are there - some will be extremist religious leaders and fighters, some will want to avenge the killing or maiming of family/being kept in an open air prison.

Totally agree. Some 6,000 so called targeted Hamas sites have now been hit. Such fantastic surveillence the IDF must have, except when it comes to the planned attack and being informed beforehand. Anybody would think that Israel let the attack happen so they could release hell on Gaza.

Which councillor made these ’jokes’?

Behave. The IDF would have had those Hamas sites pinpointed months if not years in advance. And do you really think they'd knowingly sacrifice kibbutzim and kids at a music festival just to give them an excuse to release hell on equally innocent people in Gaza? Jeez!

You believe that IsraelI intelligence is that good that it can pinpoint 1,000s of Hamas targets but not know what they were planning? Jeez !

The Hamas atrocities must have taken years of planning. I’d be shocked if they’d not planned the aftermath too. This means that they are not going be hiding in the places the IDF think they are with the exception of the underground tunnels which can surely only be accessed with a ground invasion.

You’re positing two extremes to give weight to the unprovable conspiracy theory you’ve come up with.

Israeli intelligence is generally regarded as one of the best in the world. It’s highly likely they’ve thwarted many previous attacks. Hamas only had to be lucky once. Equally it’s likely that they know of Hamas leaders and fighters and where they are based, as well as some of the tunnels. They won’t know “thousands of them” though.

This was a bit more than luck.

In terms of horrific atrocities, 9/11 saw a dozen terrorists or so take over 4 flights. There was a lot of luck needed to pull that off.

But over 1,500 militants crossing the border unnoticed? Sorry, that’s profound incompetence from Israeli intelligence. I think this is one of the reasons why the reaction is so overbearing. Hit back hard before the Israeli public can start asking questions. I’m guessing that politicians have got too involved in the IDF and weakened it significantly over the years.
