Those were his words last night on the Big League Weekend programme after an interview with Simon Grayson (Leeds manager) for the analysis of the game on Saturday.

Well, for one Micky, I guess it will give us a chance to see who can help us get us out of the situation we're in at the minute and bring in a few people before the 2nd February.

And also, if you decide to go Micky, then I'm sure that in the majority of people's eyes, you will be seen as the man who got us out of Division Three and winning the title, and setting the foundations for the following Championship winning season as well. I won't forget what he did for the club back then, but if you stay and take us down, then I believe the majority of supporters will forget what you did previously, and you will become a hate-figure within the club.

He has the luxury of having been a winner with us, hence the margin for error so far. I mean if he was a stranger, he'd have been mobbed out of this club by now, but he's got us into relegation trouble in no time flat with extraordinarily poor performances, yet still has some support.
If he took us down a division, he'd actually just reverse the work he achieved before in winning the division 2 title, then it would be 'even' and he'd be walking, blame lay more at the feet of DK and the board.

I think that’s the bottom line. He’s not going to walk and he’s certainly not going to be pushed so we should all just get behind him and the team. I for one want him to stay anyway and see him turn this terrible season around starting with a convincing win over Luton this evening.

Exactly. Nor is the fact that the fare on offer every single week is disjointed and seemingly ill-coached crap, despite there being some more than half-decent players out there.

How many times this season have I thought that, even if we did equalise, we wouldn't really have deserved it? And besides, we never do.

It isn't good enough, but it is still true that the only position that counts is the one at the end of the last day of the season.

So many keep quoting our 7th place at the end of last season. In January we were 17th and this board was full of criticism of Wilkins and relegation predictions. It wasn't good enough, but in the end it didn't matter did it?

It's more of a case of us going a goal up and thinking to myself how long we'll keep the lead for.

Yup, good point. He's sadly not up to it without any of his gang of pet players like Brooker, Freeman etc.

I do think that he'd make a great "YOU HEARD WHAT THE GAFFER SAID"-style assistant manager, although he's just clearly in way beyond his ability even in Division 3 - something that those of us who remember his pretty shameful moaning about missing out on top management jobs when managing us the first time round can't even take any pleasure from.

I think that's a very extreme view. If he stays and takes us down people will be angry, but in the long run people will still remember the good times he gave us.

He won't be a hate-figure. There may be a short-term spell of hate sent his way, but we'll recover, re-build, we'll move on and in 5 years look back and say it was a bad choice all round, but he brought us some good times.

Assuming of course relegation isn't the death knell of this club, and we recover and the good times come again, which I'm confident they will.

Maybe "hate figure" is a bit extreme, but I'll admit I'm already bitter towards him. Hawking himself for bigger jobs while he was here, FFS. He won just the ONE title for us and he thought he was the next David Moyes.

Now he comes back when no other club would go anywhere near him and he's making a right f***ing MESS of a half decent side. And you just know that if we were in Leicester's league position, he'd already be moaning about not being given the chance to take the job at, say, Charlton.
