doesn't have the balls to test himself.
I guess thats why Lewis Dunk is staying in Brighton and why Maldini stayed at Milan, Totti at Roma, Giggs at United etc. then. They just didnt have the balls to test themselves.

Very difficult for him to move this summer. The Italian teams just can not afford him. City, Bayern and PSG would be the only options.

quite easy for him to move on if he's fallen out with manager and president and lowers wage demands. you've named three likely desinations anyway. not sure Bayern want or need him though, so two that could easily make a deal.
Will he come to the PL?
what's the equivalent of a cold, rainy night in Stoke these days?
Most likely he will stay for another year as he can go wherever he wants next year, perhaps Newell's Old Boys.
If Barcelona manage to get their shit together - Koeman doing a good job and the right president (Bartomeu is the main reason he wants to go) is elected in March, he could possibly stay.

I dont think it is the club he has issues with it is the massive tax deduction to his media rights by the Spanish tax system and court. He wont say this is the reason because he will get slated for it but it is pretty much the reason why Ronaldo left Madrid as well.

Leeds-bound, obvs.

A lot of Leeds fans tweeting guillem balague if Leeds have A chance of getting him.
Probably not working in the favor of him staying, but I dont think its the main issue - if it was all about the money they would have found a way. But Messi leaving has been brewing for a very long time.
It can be traced back to when Sandro Rosell took over and fell out with Pep Guardiola multiple times, creating a rift between the Cruijffian/Catalan Barca roots (Laporta, Pep, Puyol, Xavi, Messi etc) and the new, Qatar-friendly guys such as Rosell & then vice president (and now president) Bartomeu. Pep got tired and left. Puyol quit his new job at the club in protest. Multiple youth coaches left or got fired. The decision not to extend Abidals contract despite promising to after his illness.
Its very infected and even if money plays a part, like it usually does, it really is much more intricate than that.
He just wants a huge contract and even more power at Barca. Where would he go? Nowhere. New contract in a week, guaranteed.
If he can go on a free, plenty of places where he could get a nice juicy signon fee. At his age he wont get a contract that will make up the loss in earnings from that court case. If he leaves Spain he gets that back.
