really didnt rate tayab,and its no alcohol.

We have both possibly spelt the name wrong, is Tayyabs the one you're referring to? The is a 'bring your own' on Fieldgate St. Whilst the restaurant itself was total and utter chaos and the service left a little to be desired I thought the food was pretty good. At times it was very rich, and burnt and dusty but I kinda like that.

google the name and download the pdf, if you like making curry, it is bloody superb and accordimg to my Indian mate who used to work in a kitchen it's the way they do it in the resteraunts. i will probably never order another takeaway.

strange as it may seem there are some males who do not like indian food. What do folk think of blokes who do not like a balti? Ladies, could you date a man who does not like a madras? Who do some fellas not like the fiery food of the gods? Are they real men?

Yes, thats the one, I didnt dislike it but felt it didnt live up to the hype,have you been to any of the "posh" indian restaurants like bombay clipper or the mint leaf ? great service , nice surroundings but for me you cannot beat a brick lane or traditional local indian restaurant.

My mate was married to a sikh girl who cooked us indian food the way it really is back in india, unbelievably good, and very dry compared to the food you get here which has lots of sauce.

The couple who run the corner shop opposite me often give me tasters of their authentic Indian cooking, i have to say it beats the crap out of Indian resteraunt food.

Not been to any posh ones. Although that bastion of new socialism, The Cinnamon Club, is in my sights.

Agree on a good local indian. Authentic indian food is all well and good, but a good solid British/Western style restaurant cannot be beat. And as most people know, I love The Ganges.

When I am back home one of the first things I eat is a Vindaloo and loads of onion bhajis, garlic naan and pappas with shitloads of beer. Nothing manly about it at all. It's about being ENGLISH

I am not a great fan of "hot " curries. I like stuff up to a Tandoori Tikka that is about it. I am the same with chillies in food, if it burns your mouth so you can't taste the food, personally I think there is no point in eating it.

Whilst I love curry I can't stand the curry bores who think the whole point is how hot you can handle it to prove how macho they are. And let's not forget that most of the curries you eat in a Take Away over here bear little resemblance to the curries you eat in India.

Fair point, some of the best curries that I cook are less strong than the lime pickle I serve on the side, I prefer to go for flavour! A lot of Indians think that Brits are crazy in going for flamethrower strength curries as, although they do like it hot, most of their dishes are just spicy rather than nuclear.

OK so which cities offer the best curry houses?
Bradford, Glasgow, East London, Birmingham, Southampton, Leicester, Manchester.
I'm sure there are others but Brighton isn't so good IMHO.

Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai?

I had a lebanese curry the other night , very hot.......................it gave me the shiites .........badoom tschhh!

I have had curries, but as one person said only because everyone else is going. I have found them well what can I say rubbish. However I went to Thailand a few weeks ago and do Thai curries count ? Because they are super duper and why would I like the Thai say red curry and an Indian curry or Korma ?

Its BYO! The chops are amazing, the mains are still good although not on a par with the chops, but still much better than most Curry houses.
