Precisely. Earning his crust from the media he so utterly despises. Confusing isn't it?

Tell me another job someone in his position would/could do that wouldn’t attract criticism?

Also , I think the media he really despised is more the newspaper media in this country, not an American streaming service.

Although I don’t think Harry has said anything about The Crown, apart from the fact that he had watched some of it, both his father and brother have made it clear through their media contacts that they take a dim view of it.
Nobody in the family comes out of it looking particularly good, and your guess is as good as mine about how much is gospel and how much is bollox.
My original point really was that such is the dislike of the couple for various reasons, some valid, some not so much, anything that they undertake to raise a few Bob, would have been criticised.
The Duke of Windsor attracted criticism for not taking any form of gainful employment after his abdication and relying on the Queen for his rather lavish expenses, Harry hasn’t gone down that route, he has got a very well paid deal with Netflix. He may have to hold his nose when he gets the cheque, but, at least he’s earning his own money.

He directly referred to The Crown in his interview with James Corden where he said that while it was fiction, there was truth to it.

I don't think he is being criticised for earning his own crust. He's being criticised for bleating on about everything else. He wanted out, but he wants to throw some hand grenades as he walks out the door. I'm delighted, as some who is against our monarchy, he's done brilliantly.

Again, the links I posted are all criticism of his links to Netflix, not his complaints about his financial plight.
Some of them are prior to the current hoo haa .
I still think his attack is more against the newspaper media in this country, than anything else, and for that I can’t say, I disagree with him.

You have obviously not read one of the links I posted in my original answer to you, everyone criticising the Netflix deal, not criticising, in the main , his sense of entitlement and his belief that he should be bankrolled by his father.
I am a republican, my wish would be the Royal Family should be quietly shown the door when the Queen dies, with the country reclaiming the Castles, Estates, and other property that the Crown owns, but allow the Royals to keep the possessions they privately own.
If Harry’s flounce brings this nearer fruition, more power to his elbow, but, I don’t hate any of them, unlike some who have posted some really nasty stuff about the couple.

Blimey, thought you were a paid up royalist ! Your links have to be read in the context of a couple who feel entitled to handouts from their family and the taxpayer. They also expect royal titles. As a Republican myself I feel this takes entitlement to a new level. They have now attempted to get their own way using race and mental health as props and deserve condemnation for the insult that gives to people a lot less fortunate than themselves.

No, the gutter press and media of this country is a cess pit. Giving them a member of my family as being a bit racist isn't a route I wouldn't have gone down to criticise them.

That’s strange, I thought you were a Royalist protecting the integrity of the ‘Firm’
The links I posted are definitely criticism of the Netflix deal, and not of his sense of entitlement or his belief he should be bankrolled.
I would also tend to believe the accusation of racism. I actually heard the same thing said, not by a Royal obviously, when theDuchess of Sussex pregnancy was announced.
As an aside, when Princess Diana’s pregnancy with William was announced the Royal Marine contingent on the ship I was serving on sent a telegram ( remember them) to the happy couple saying, Congratulations the announcement of your pregnancy, hope it’s not Black”

Well, only one of us is sticking up for royals ! You won’t find anything positive about any of them in any of my posts. Again, your links are the critical outcome of a situation these two characters created by announcing they wanted out of the royal family but it appears not out of the cash and titles. I am a little incredulous that you do not think the Netflix deal is worthy of criticism on that basis. The fact that you ‘would tend to believe’ what they say about racism suggests a very good reason for making the non specific accusations. They are pushing your buttons for support and getting it.

Do you believe the baby colour comment is totally fabricated?
I’m just relying on a lifetime of hearing racist comments from people who would honestly believe they weren’t racist. Sometimes these things are said by people who just don’t understand that what they say is offensive.
and I believe this is one of those occasions. An elderly lady once said to me that a small black child in my cafe was very well behaved for a black kid. If I had told her, that is a racist comment, she would not have believed me, she thought she was paying the child a compliment.
Also, how does a person prove that they are suicidal, apart from attempting suicide, if they are not believed?
As for buttons being pressed, I think yours are being pummelled by the likes of the Mail, Sun, Express, and good old Piers.

You are rather prone to believing without evidence. I don’t understand your logic that flows from hearing racist comments elsewhere to believing a specific allegation of racism in a conversation you were not a part of. I don’t know if the racist comment was made and nor do you. It does get attention though and if made it needs to name the person otherwise it’s just a smear. As to the mental health; Harry was receiving support for his problems and it really wouldn’t have been difficult to get similar help from the same source. To say you cannot access mental health support and complain about having to use Google like the proles is rather arrogant and entitled. Feels like we are being used in a family fallout over money. Your approach becomes clearer when you tell me my views are formed from reading certain newspapers and watching Piers Morgan on tv. How can you possibly know ? Actually I haven’t read a tabloid newspaper in 30 years and I have never watched any breakfast tv apart from the news. You seem to be a walking tabloid yourself !

And you don’t believe a racist comment was made, even though there had be no specific denial from Royal sources. All that is put in the statement was” recollections may vary” which is definitely not an outright denial.
You may not read any of the rags that purport to be the fifth estate in this country,as I don’t, but, your whole argument is precisely aligned to them. You say I have no way of knowing if the couple are speaking the truth about the alleged racism, and I am naive to believe them? You yourself say you don’t know the truth of it , but, then accuse them of ‘playing the race card’ a phrase directly from the Daily Mail playlist.
I don’t think we will ever concur on this matter, not that, that matters, but, I can quite believe that a racist comment was made, I also believe that Meghan did struggle with her mental health when you see some of the bilge that was in the public domain about her, whether there was a breakdown in communication between all the involved individuals happened, or something more sinister I have no idea, and neither does most other people, including the press.
I also believe that the Royal Family as an institution is outmoded, and way past it’s sell by date, and sincerely hope that this, and the quite disgusting shielding of Prince Andrew is the start of fall of the House of Windsor.

Again, you are jumping to conclusions without evidence. At no point did I say I disbelieved the accusation of racism. How could I ? I wasn’t there and no specific person has actually been accused. You by contrast believe the accusation because you have heard racism elsewhere. I find your arguments a little bizarre.

Do you not believe Harry as he is the one that had the conversation? As for the support for mental health issues, I believe when she asked for help she was told "My heart goes out to you, because I see how bad it is, but there’s nothing we can do to protect you because you’re not a paid employee of the institution".

Your comment was “playing the race card “.
I was under the impression this was aimed at BAME people who accused other people ( usually white) of racism, when none actually existed, and the accusation was made to gain sympathy for the BAME persons stance.
If you use this expression you can’t really blame me for believing you don’t believe the accusation against the unnamed senior Royal.

On the balance of personal experience, the lack of a strong denial by the Palace, and to be fair, some of the Royal Families previous gaffes, I believe Harry.
It may not stand up in a court of law , but it’s my gut feeling it’s true.

No, I have not made any reference to playing a race card so you should not be quoting me as if I have. Having not used that expression I find the conclusions to which you have jumped on the back of it quite bizarre. I said ‘using race and mental health as props’ and this is because of the context of them wishing for their private business interests to be supplemented by state cash and titles. That interview came across as a part of the campaign to get their own way. Making an accusation of racism is not to be taken lightly and yet they freely do so by smearing an entire family and on of all things a light entertainment show. I had no view on these people before the last few weeks but found that interview appalling in its crassness. You are entitled to your gut view but I am simply commenting on what I know and don’t know.

I was simply remarking on the oddity of Harry himself being able to access mental health support whilst his wife was unable. I also find it odd that someone would respond by simply not getting help. There are many different sources of support and the Royal Household HR department is not one of them. Having said that, I neither believe nor disbelieve. I am simply commenting on the crassness of mentioning it on a light entertainment show.

I apologise for my misquote, I must have read another poster write it, and trying to read a book, and continue this discussion, I got mixed up, I’m a bloke , we can’t multi task, apparently.

Anyway, as I previously said, on the balance of probabilities, I believe the accusation of racism, and I feel not naming the person who asked the colour question, just means that Harry is trying to protect someone who he cares for very much, while trying to explain to the public the level of hurt that his wife feels.

If he had come out and named his father, for instance,as the person who asked the question, would that have worked out better than what’s happening now?
We’ll never know.

Thank you  I thought it must have been someone else.
We obviously think differently on this. My view is you either make an accusation against the offender or you don’t make it at all.

Fair enough, I think we are both hoping for but not expecting, the same outcome to this, and with the Prince Andrew situation, we are closer now than we have been in years.

( Still don’t think it will happen though)

Gambling millionaire gadabout, dresses in Nazi uniform for fun, unsure of paternal lineage seeks beautiful but unsuccessful actress who enjoys public spats with Father and accusing in-laws of racism for trips abroad, wasting tax-payers money and TV appearances. Must love drama.

What could go wrong :lolol:

P.S Take our millions and **** off if that's what you want to do, you deluded pair of over-indulged fannies. Stop popping back up to tell us how badly you have been treated.
