Can't believe he lasted so long.
Hopefully them and Sunderland can string a few wins together and put some pressure on palace.

He has been appalling this season. Should stick to coaching where he has a good reputation.

It's tricky with Newcastle - seeing big clubs relegated is always fun but a new manager bounce could see them catch Pardiola's boys.

A year ago, Derby were top of the League in March with 12 games remaining. They finished 8th.

Quite how this man got a job again after that, let alone a PL one, will remain of life's great mysteries.

I suppose he will walk away with at least a couple of million quid ,just like he did at middlesborough, derby fc twente wolfsberg, very boring useless manager.

He's the ginger Sven. Personally I hope he makes a return to Holland so we can get to hear more of his great "Schmoke an' a pancake" Dutch accent. Hopefully P Esch V or Ajasche.

Doing such a fine job too for their 'long suffering fans' as Alan Green often swoons about them. (where's the vomit smiley when you need it)

Just a thought: A few years back, a certain manager done a pretty good job in difficult conditions for them. Surely they wouldn't come in for him again, would they?

Although the even greater mystery is how he was ever allowed to manage ENGLAND. :ffsparr:

It just seems like a bad joke now. Come to think of it it did then too.

Stupidly late to be sacking him, should have done it in December. Shows that spending a fortune in the January transfer window is no guarantee of picking up points. They need an average of around 1.5 points per match to end up with 39 points. Very tough ask for any manager but traditionally there is one team that leaves it late before they start to pick up points.

Only ever done well at M'Boro and FC Twente (1st time round) in his career. Shit for England, Wolfsburg, Forest, Derby and Newcastle.

That night at Wembley vs Croatia truly was a horror show. We only needed a cuffing DRAW as well. McLaren seems to specialise in snatching disaster from the jaws of victory.

As an aside, the one silver lining of that dark night was that I actually got to share a few post-match pints with John Byrne in the Cricketers, Hove. My all time favourite Albion player. They say never meet your heroes, but he totally disproved that theory. Could not meet a nicer bloke.
