he isnt even a starter in donny's 1st 11. and he is no good in the air (with his head anyway). he is just very difficult to play against as a defender. all arms and legs.
iwelumo was much better than leo trust me i have seen them both quite a lot. a lot of donny fans get on to him because he is lazy. but i dont have any problem with his temprement and have not heard of any dressing room unrest about him, as quoted in a earlier post.
i would rather have henderson back.

While we await McGhee to find this targetman somewhere, I reckon the new musclebound Chris McPhee will get a crack at partnering Leon judging by McGhee's comments in the match programme last night.

He will come in for Mahe.

Owusu - good player, better than Goater IMO - pacey and good in the air.

Morgan - superb skills, good touch, finishing not bad but young and should be a star to come

Savage - comedy player but defenders hate him - á la Rougier

FFS, I'd rather see us play David Lee than go begging to Reading for a loan player. Didn't the Coppell/Pardew/Madjeski love triangle do enough damage to us. Was it really just bad luck that Pardew got some players from under Stevie boys nose ?.

McGhee has surely always known that we need another striker, which is why he brought Kerekes on trial twice. It would suggest that he's been looking for another front man all along but simply can't find one.
I agree with all those saying we need experience though. Leon, Mahe, Jake and Chris are all young, a more experienced pro would certainly help.

On the evidence of Tuesday night, we need a big target man for the next home game, not next month or next year, when we will have lost many more games. I find it hard to believe that we can't get someone in on loan. Where there is a will there is a way. I can only assume that funds are even tighter at the club than any of us appreciate. This doesn't bode well for the rest of the season.

McPhee has good awareness AND knows where the goal is.

The one that puzzles me is Yemi Odubade - the guy from Eastbourne Town.
He scored shitloads in the County League, but of course I wrote him of as not good enough because it was only the County League and surely if the Albion thought he was any good......

Then Yeovil took him on.
I'm not saying he was the answer, but if we can gamble on an untried bloke from Switzerland, surely we could have had a look at him?

Could it be that the local policy may be weighted too heavily in favour of the youth set up, and anyone outside that doesn't get looked at properly?
