Older people are less likely to condone tantrums.

My biggest issue, just like with the Cameron stuff all those years ago is the fact that it is being done in public.

Before Steve (LI) gets on to McCammon, I have to say whether it was right or wrong that it happened in public, that incident was just bloody funny and the reason it was within the public domain was that a fan saw McGhee chuck him off the bus and phoned Harty up. The Knight stuff, well McGhee has spoken to the press about.

It was pretty well public on Tuesday night in front of the south stand.

Once MM made the decision to drop knight he was always going to have to explain it. I wouldn't be suprised if there is more to this than people know and MM IS keeping a lot of it private.

Funny isn't ? McGhee is being attacked for something that Alan Mullery did nearly every other week. Mullery was always slagging off individuals.

But it would have been easier enough to say that it is an internal matter, instead we get this;

Albion manager Mark McGhee is demanding an apology from axed striker Leon Knight.

He wants Knight to say sorry for his reaction to being substituted against Wolves last week.

McGhee hinted today that if an apology is forthcoming then Knight will be back in the team for the Seagulls' next match against arch rivals Crystal Palace at Withdean on Sunday week.

Knight was dropped from the squad for Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Stoke and left at home to stew.

McGhee said: "I was disappointed with his attitude coming off the pitch the other night. He's not come to see me about it, he's not apologised, therefore I did not want him on the coach. He's not just let me down, he's let us all down.

"I would like his response to be to recognise that he was the right man to bring off against Wolves, that he was totally out of order the way he reacted, to apologise to me and his team-mates and to come in and get on with his training and score the winning goal against Crystal Palace."

It should be an internal matter but the manager has chosen to continue the spat in public, which is not good for anyone.

But that is the usual sensationalist pish that we get from The Argus.

Clough wouldn't have hesitated to drop a player for looking the wrong way.
Different era, yes.

Which very few, and least of all you, complained about when McCammon was on the wrong end of this Argus coverage. In fact, I'm pretty sure you gloried in it.

Of course it has to be made public! How on earth is he going to explain Knight being left out then for disciplinary reasons then? Lie? :lolol:

Something along the lines of;

'that is a matter I do not want to discuss with the press, it is being dealt internally.'

Or maybe the old classic;

'no comment.'

By him talking to the press it just makes your jobs easier.

That's right. What Leon did wasn't in the "public domain"? I guess not, apart from 7,000 people :lolol: :lolol: Bloody hell, you do tie youself in knots sometimes defending the indefensible.

What Argus coverage was there about McCammon?

I rarely pay much attention to the drivel they print.

We won at West Ham last year so there wasn't quite so much fuss made but Leon has been left out of the squad before.
He missed the first three games of last season through suspension due to his lack of discipline.
At least MM had got him to stop diving (although I have been tempted to want someone to do it now and again so we get a shot at goal - joke)

And you know full well if he'd have left Leon out and not given a full explanation to the fans, there would have been uproar over secretiveness, almost certainly led by the LK Fan Club on here.

The fact is, you can pick at McGhee's conduct any way you want, any excuse, but your silence on Leon's foolish conduct I'm afraid speaks far louder, Bucky.

The Argus coverage that was posted every day on NSC/NSP in the wake of Burnley with long threads attached. But I guess you missed that too.

In MM's interview on seagulls world he stated I have not seen him and he has got to come in and train properly and he has to apologise to his mates.
This infers to me two things, Leon did not turn up for training and he also said something that had upset the other players.
But I might be reading too much into that statement.
