I have paid £ 477 to sit in the rain with no facilities. He must realise people are entitled to express their feelings and stop tightening the noose around his neck with these unhelpfull comments.

McGhee is wrong on this one.

The Albion fans are better than any he's had in his managerial career and the sooner he realises what they've done for this club and what they've been through the better.

Did I imagine it, but didn't Molango or Jaret have a shot on goal at the start of the 2nd half. From deep right of the goal which went into the keepers arms??
So Robinson's wasn't the only shot on target.

Mcghee is spot on he no's what it is all about at this level and what effect a negative crowd has on young players. All the fella has asked for is a bit of patience whilst our youngsters bed into this divison. With a lack of resources due to Falmer its a case of putting out on to the pitch what we have, which is a whole heap of good promising sussex born and bread youngsters who are trying to find their feet in a very tough division. I for one like what Mcghee is trying to do with the squad. But we really need to back them i was ashamed of our home support on tuesday no singing constand moaning and being outsung by several hundred Plymouth fans. SO come on lets get those vocal cords going if you hear some moaning old git behind slating our team drown em out with our singing. I sit in B Block row M and will sing till im hoarse please feel free to stand up and join me....

It was a crap performance and a very frustrating night and I admit to not getting behind the team as well as I could have done. That is something I feel a bit embarrassed about having read McGees' comments. He is right, the team will make more of an effort when the fans are getting behind them and is correct in his examples of when we have done so in the past. Last week against Reading when we were 3-1 down the team kept going and managed to almost save the game. Anyone who was there will know how great the support was for the full 90 minutes and that must have been a reason for the side pushing till the final whistle, unlike a lot of other teams who would have folded.
Let's hope though that if McGee wants 100% effort from the fans, that he also gets it for 90 minutes from the players. Leon Knight take note.

This is a problem i have always had with our fans.We are so negative and the minute something goes wrong we start by jumping on peoples backs. The players and manager are out there trying their best not purposefully trying to lose.Where has all the patience gone.Even last year i remember certain players getting abused(jones) even though we won promotion.Chill out everyone, support the team like we did at reading then we will be ok.
GET OFF THE PLAYERS BACKS AND SING FOR THE ALBION EVEN IF WE ARE 5-0 DOWN IT WILL COME GOOD EVENTUALLY.

Rant over:angry:
i need a :drink: :drink: :drink: better:lolol: :clap2:
:p :p :p :p

As one who did "slate" certain players during Tuesday night (yes I singled out darren Currie for being a complete waste of space) I'm not going to aplogise for it.

That performance was just unacceptable and better the players learn that NOW rather than get the mistaken idea that it was acceptable because It was a) early in the season b)young team needs patience etcetc. NO! They are supposed to be good enough to pay at this level and It was crap and if they are allowed to think that the supporters felt that was it was an acceptable level of performance then the worry is that they will continue to play like at that level and because no-one has pointed out how bad it was, then we are going to be down by Christmas.

McGhee should realise that. Other Albion managers I can think of (Alan Mullery springs to mind) would have agreed with the supporters reaction and metaphorically kicked some backsides to change things.

I shall of couirse be giving the team my full support at 3.00 tomorrow. It may not be last till 4.55

I can understand your point Storer68 but getting on Curries back or any other player during the game is not going to make him play any better infact it will make his game worse and he wont look for the ball, just disappear.
Give the guys a chance and dont help the opposition because that is exactlly what they are looking for.

Bloody hell...you are a sensitive lot.

At the end of the day no-one goes to a game to deliberately slag off a / or some/ player(s). Your mood is affected by the performance presented, like going to the pikkies or theater or any sporting event.

Football is really one of the only sports that you can go and have a bloody good shout at someone without being arrested or lamped one.

Professional footballers are doing something they love...they are playing a game for a living...they have the chances that most of us mere mortals dream of.....playing a sport in front of thousands and thousands of people. If they play well, they get plaudits/media attention/ loving support from the fans and they accept that. In the same way, if they play badly they ger abused, shouted at and in some cases publically ridiculed. That is the nature of the beast.

It is up to the management of the team to make sure they are mentally strong enough to cope with both sides of the paper.

I do not blame the players for the abject performance on Tuesday I blame the managemnt who chose the wrong option...plain and simple.

If McGhee gets upset then tough. 2 months ago at Cardiff and Swindon, MM could do no wrong. Now he has made a mistake therefore he must take the flak.

Not sure I can blame people for the odd negative vibe from the crowd when things are going badly, that's just natural and happens at any club. I understand where McGhee's coming from, but it is difficult to lift the whole crowd when the performance is so flat.

The only thing that got on my nerves was the few individuals yelling directly at McGhee and the players, advising how sh1t they were, or to "sort it out", or whatever other personal abuse they could come up with. I couldn't believe it, we've only played 2 games, at a higher level than any of the youngsters have played at before, and these people are telling the manager who got us promoted with, lets face it, a pretty thin squad, to p1ss off??!

Someone needs to tell those whinging old buggers to sod off and support Arsenal, then they'll never have anything to moan about will they? FFS.

If I've paid £22 and we're playing shit then I'll moan. If he wants us to cheer then give us something to cheer about. Tosspot.

Take your point EK, but the manager himself has looked at his own performance and also decided it wasn't good enough either. I don't recall hearing anybody telling MM to piss off (that's not to say it didn't happen), but the frustration from Tuesday was bourne out of the fact we were playing Plymouth not Portsmouth, and that we were quite rightly expecting a result from that game, if not a win, and we didn't even come close.

The reason why we were happy at Reading despite defeat, was that we made a fight of it. On Tuesday it was a tame surrender, and that's what a lot of fans don't accept.

What McGhee doesn't realise is that this situation is deja vu for the Albion fans.

For Plymouth read Coventry. For Jake Robinson read Danny Marney.

It's not about being patient. The point is we can't afford our manager to mess about like Hinshelwood did. Crap formations and selections will mean crucial dropped points, and crucial dropped points means relegation.

Get your tactics right McGhee, give us a team with fight and we'll back you all the way.
