You tell me, I'm the one who's been accused of claiming false facts? The only facts i've put in are of that link!?

dont know, its your link, your claim. you arent backing it.

my point, aside from Maccy D that i dont much care about, is that MSG isnt bad. im sure if you pump rat with half its bodywieght of MSG its a bit poorly. in reality putting in somthing as an additive, that occurs naturally in dozens of foods we've consumed for centuries, isnt causing any deleterious health effects. MSG was invented as an additive in 1908, used widely throughout south east asia, yet the claimed health effects wheren't noted until 1968 in the US, and have never been corroborated in proper double blind research. but im sure flutterby understands more.

proof that msg obviously stunts your growth and makes your eyes go funny.

:lolol: bit naughty?

Here's some more info for you to disprove, knock yourself out (not literally).

MSG ADDICTIVE EFFECTS

According to researcher John Erb, MSG is added to food for the addictive effect it has on the human body. Even the propaganda website sponsored by the food manufacturers lobby group supporting MSG at: http://www.msgfactscom/facts/msgfact12.html explains that the reason they add it to food is to make people eat more. A study of the elderly showed that people eat more of the foods that it is added to. The Glutamate Association lobby group says eating more benefits the elderly, but what does it do to the rest of us? 'Betcha can't eat just one', takes on a whole new meaning where MSG is concerned! And we wonder why the nation is overweight?
The MSG manufacturers themselves admit that it addicts people to their products. It makes people choose their product over others, and makes people eat more of it than they would if MSG wasn't added.
Since its introduction into the American food supply fifty years ago, MSG has been added in larger and larger doses to the pre-packaged meals, soups, snacks and fast foods we are tempted to eat everyday. The FDA has set no limits on how much of it can be added to food. Indeed, they claim it's safe to eat in any amount. How can they claim it safe when there are hundreds of scientific studies concerning the adverse effects of MSG? It is obvious the FDA is not concerned with our health, no matter what the television news reports.

I never thought I'd write this but The Truth is correct. MSG is becoming increasingly recognised as an addictive food additive. The Australian Health Authority who are ahead of their time is starting to identify food products that contain MSG and highlight them to the consumer public . Whether McD's food contains it I don't know but it is a very unhealthy element to food and that is trying to be flagged by quite a few food awareness bodies.

I used to think McDonalds were the evil empire, they were definitely one of the first companies to be identified as such when people woke up to corporate greed.

Looking back (and I've read some of the books mentioned) they were and are relatively harmless compared to financial institutions and let's face it some of the expansionist plans of our own supermarkets.

I'm personally more concerned about internships in yoghurt knitting Guardian reading industries like my own, the media industry.

And wherever you work if you have a pension, when did you last look where that was invested ?

To give them some credit (and I struggle) McDonalds have attempted to change. Their bread still tastes like an experiment in making bread with none of the ingredients of bread, but they are an easy target and the least of our worries. People consume more shit they bought in a supermarket than they ever bought from McDonalds.

MSG ? Ha ha, start worrying about salt and sugar first.

Is that why the Chinese love all those noodles and prawn toast thingies.

I have a book from a "celebrity chef" from the 80s who thought MSG was the solution to the dangers of too much salt.

Probably wrong no doubt but he was ahead of the game suggesting that things like salt and sugar were actually the real dangers eaten in quantity.

Older posters will remember the thinking in the 80 (when we first heard about E numbers) that MSG was slowly killing us and he talking very very much against the grain.

what do you mean by "addictive"? MSG has always been an enhancer to increase the desire for the food, that its whole point. its "addictive" in the same way fat, sugar or salt is, we are hard wired to want those things, because they help sustain us. or you believe something more?

Blumenthal? i recalling reading he uses it quite a bit. if its the same, the idea is a much smaller amount of MSG is used than salt, so a lot less sodium, which is bad for us.

How old are you ? MSG has been a concern since the 70s. Big thing in the 80s by the way.

And please don't credit yourself about things you have read on the internet. I've read most of them too. The difference is I don't set my own conspiracy forum, simply requote and/or relink them and claim to be the next messiah.

An aggregator of conspiracy theories does not a conspiracy theorist make. That's what really makes me laugh about the conspiracy theory industry. I delve into a lot of it and like yourself have read a number of things that have turned out to be true. I also suspect we have only seen the tip of the iceburg particularly around recently scandals.

But please ! 99% of it on the internet is simply a twitter style copy and paste. Much actually omitting any reference at all. Much like the very very weird activity of twitter posters with nothing new to say simply posting headlines off the major news sites.

Christ, is this still going. Nice to see The Truth revert to type and claim one website as proof for the part of the claim that wasn't my main question. The question was are you libelling McDonalds or do you have proof that they are lying when they say they add MSG. I'll take the avoidance of the question as my answer.

Funny part isn't that I couldn't give a chuff about a company I use about once a year.

It seems that McDonalds is good enough pre-match food for facing England in an ODI though…..
