McClaren it is then...

Was it only February just gone that you had Middlesboro fans chargeing up to him in the dugout throwing their season tickets at him after a 4-0 thrashing at home to mega useless Villa. Now he's England manager.

The world of football is fickle even more so than usual today.

Agree football fans are very fickle, however haven't met anyone who wants him as manager.

Right I'm off to support Ghana, I told you when Middlesborough beat Basle, McClaren will be the next England manager. I bloody knew it.

Anybody know any Ghana players?

Why Mclaren gets it above O'Neill, Curbishley - or even Carlton Palmer - baffles me

O'Neill - hooooooooooof
Curbishley - Not one ounce of European experience, and barely a top half finish, this season was his best ever in any cup and they only made the quarters.

McClaren is the best REMAINING candidate imo, just annoys me that we f***ed up over Hiddink AND Scolari.

Best of the rest but if it weren't for the Sun we would have got Scolari. Have they ever done or printed anything that is of benefit to anybody.

Quite simply, no, they have not.

Unfortunately people still buy the paper. If every football fan looked at it and said 'you have cost us a good manager wioth your reporting of the events I will not buy your paper' perhaps their attitude and journalistic approach would change.
