To correct the facts, it appears they have not been on full pay, they have been on unpaid leave, now I would think the employers would have paid them due to compassionate grounds but it is not appropriate to take it from the fund imho, the mortgage paid was July and August at £ 2000 pm, the only reason it did not continue to be paid from the fund was that as they were suspects legally it was not possible, also where does it end, does the fund pay the costs of their trip abroad, meals, drinks, I do find it hard to sympathise with someone who left their children alone for many nights in a row whilst they were eating and drinking and enjoying themselves

Did you pay into the fund?

No? Back in your box then!

er, i kinda thought that was the whole point of the fund, to fund their expeditions across europe, the private detectives, the publicity agents etc.

so its wrong that they try everything in their power to help get their child back then is it?

how public spirited of you.

At the risk of repeating myself if those two neglient twats had spent a little bit more time caring for their children instead of sitting in a restaurant getting pissed then they would never have lost their child in the first place, assuming she has been kidnapped and not anything else of course, and they would never have been in the situation where they had to 'try everything in their power to get their child back'.

Public spirit is nothing to do with, excusing crass neglience is imo.

so as far as you are concerned for one slip, ie leaving their children in a room and checked on every half an hour means that they deserve to have their child abducted, possibly murdered possibly something even too horrible to contemplate.

f***ing hell mate, I hope that when you have kids you keep them well and truly wrapped in cotton wool and watch them 24/7 365 days a year.

as a parent of two, you try everything possible to keep your children safe, we all make mistakes and in 99.999999% of the time we get away with them...in this case they didnt!

BTW How do you know they were "getting pissed"? were you there?

Dave, these figures don't even make page 18 of the papers yet a rich white girl from english middle class parents goes missing due to the gross negligence of their parents and the whole world is turned upside down, whilst feeling and praying for the same return of Maddie, what does this tell me, African and Iraqi childrens lives are worth far less than a english white girls life

Direct your anger at 'the media' then. They choose what they print, when they print it and where.

Regardless of how it happened, a little girl is missing. If your little girl was missing you would do everything in your power to try and bring her home safely or, if the worst has happened, bring her body home and achieve closure.

Where's the posts condemning the parents in Portugal whose children nearly drowned last week, or the mother who let her daughter fall off a balcony in Majorca?
Why do you save all your condemnation for just one set of parents who got it wrong?
