McCammon ???

He is awful.

There are plenty of better players around we could try. Plenty.
McCammon should not be playing County League Football let alone Championship.

He was not good today. He had one header that went to a Brighton player.

Against QPR he was woeful.

Here is a hint - turn your seat so it faces the pitch next time. :jester:

I counted at least 10 headers that were knocked back or flicked on into good positions. He drew several fouls in dangerous position and worked his socks off. He isn't going to score many but brings others into the game.

Im under no illusions as to how good players at this standard are or how much money we have and yes, McCammon tries his best and runs around a lot.

BUT

He cannot pass
He cannot shoot
He missed headers from three yaurds out
He rarely finds a team mate
He cannot dribble
He dives more then Leon
He cannot stay on his feet even though he is f***ing huge

He puts himself around well and does get knockdowns and holds the ball up (sometimes). This can only be good for leon and others and I can only see him getting better. I've laughed at Molango much more. He stays.

Not sure, I doubt Millwall will play him again so I would hope not.

I can't believe idiots like Morriss coming on here slagging our players off, for fucks sake we have just had an unbeaten Xmas period getting 8 points and Big Mac played no small part and no nothing wankers come on here and slag him off.
Why don't you f*** off back to Old Trafford with all the rest of the prawn sarnie nobs.
Whingers like this make me sick

Absolutely agree. He wins virtually everything in the air flick-wise, which is something Virgo hasn't really mastered. That won us the game against Gillingham.

He also holds the ball up better than Virgo, which was a big reason we had less possession in the 2nd half at QPR.

That's not knocking Virgs who is an excellent trier and really good defender - but Big Mac brings more up front.

Sure - he's no Mike Small but what do you expect for next to nothing?

Oh my God!!!!!! I knew this day would come and I was dreading it. But I agree with the gist of an Ernest post.

The sentiments might be a little harsh but the underlying point I agree with.

I take it you have your happy head on tonight, Wurzel? :)

He did not win one single header against Shittu.

I dont like to moan and am delighted with the xmas period. Was merely posting my thoughts on him as a player.

I couldn't agree more .He really is poor.

He is awful. Really really awful.

He gets knocked over easier then Leon and even when he wins headers they rarely go anywhere near one of our players.

He is best when he is fouled before he has the chance to dribble, pass or shoot.

His shot against Gillingham was the most pitiful I have ever seen.

When your own fans start laughing at how crap you are it is saying something.

How is this man a pro footballer?

It may not have occured to you, but since McCammon has been playing, we've been a far more potent attack force. Before his arrival we were toothless up front. Sure, he's not the most agile or skillful player but he puts himself about and is generally a pain in the arse to opposition defences. Leon needs a traditional target man to play off. Sure, there's better out there. I'd have loved to see Benjamin back here but it isn't going to happen. Someone next to me said Millwall had ok'd McCammon to play next week. That, plus the fact he appears to have burnt his bridges with Dennis Wise after his recent paper article suggests he may be in for an extended stay at Withdean.

Christ Morris did you watch the game today. McCammon was immense up front, it was his best game for us and he's getting better all the time. If you can tell me someone who'll do the same job for us at the moment for the same money (!) let us know! Or better still let MM know....

surely his pace and power could've been better utilised in a differant sport that doesn't require footballing ability

his strength and speed are assets but he has nothing else at all
