What is it these clowns are actually protesting about?

A load of unwashed hippies have just walked past my office and they all seem to be protesting for a different cause.

Shoot the lot of em I say!

big demo here in Holborn. Bands, flags etc.

Funnily enough, that's where my office is.

All quiet now though. They better not hold me up getting home as I want to watch the football tonight!

I'm the one who should be protesting, as everyone in my Swiss head office is off today for May-day, and I'm stuck at my desk.

The Civil Service union (PCS)were out on strike today.
There were quite a few pickets on Edward Street by the Jobcentre.

It's Labour Day when the communist countries traditionally celebrated the workers.
We now have May Day but have chosen the first Monday in May which is next Monday.

whoa there, buz. there is a difference between opposing an unaccountable (the people didn't want it, the u.n. didn't want it) government, and murdering millions of people in the interests of communism.

if you're stupid enough to think the war in iraq was to overthrow saddam, i'm glad you don't engage in these issues. people who are pro the war don't have to make a 'song and dance' about it you moron - it's already happening.

but like you say, please leave it to us.

prick.

Saw a few of them hanging around yesterday evening, they looked angry, everybody else pretty much ignored them. Still wasn't it nice of their bosses to give them the day off work ?

Might these people have just been celebrating May Day, International Day of Workers Solidarity etc etc rather than protesting against anything? I have been at similar events in Barcelona and in UK in the past.
