Love him!!

Can’t wait to see him be an absolute shithouse against Palace. He loves the aggro.

Has he err, qualified for chant yet?

Another idea….

To the tune of Manic Monday by the Bangles:

It's just more magic from Maupay (Woah, woah)
Always on a Saturday (Woah, woah)
Scoring goals for fun day (Woah, woah, woah, woah)
It's just more magic from Maypay.

Brighton factually.....
He was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
But heaven knows it’s Maupay now.
He was looking for a goal and scored a goal.
And heaven knows it’s Maupay now.

Always find him impressive in interviews.

He’s clearly an articulate and intelligent chap. Great interview which has bolstered my occasionally wavering admiration of a player who is transparently a very good egg. May his blinding current form long continue.

Huge sign that Maupay is maturing that many seem to have missed on Sunday. After the first goal all of the Leicester players took turns to try to wind Neil up (orchestrated by Shmichael). He took loads of digs, hair ruffles, verbals. And he did nothing more than smile. Maybe he's turned a corner, rather like Ashley Barnes did. Kept the niggle, lost the red mist and moments. I hope so. He'll be far more effective.

I suggested this on another thread:

To the tune of A Horse with No Name by America-

We've come to the Amex
For a goal from Maupay
It feels good when he does it again
At the Amex, you'd best remember his name
Neal Maupay strikes and he's won us the game
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la

Lyrics could be improved, perhaps, but it's a great tune and everyone loves a song that ends with "la la la la la". Even those who don't know the words can belt out that bit.

He's always had the niggle - and I get the strong impression it's very deliberate and calculated. He enjoys the mind games and is clever enough to play them, including after the game in interviews. As many others have said, I love him but I'd hate him if he wasn't our player.

Not sure he's been a real 'red mist' player though, but I'm probably forgetting some things?

Quote: Neal Maupay had to be dragged away by team-mates after calling referee Jon Moss a 'f****** joke' as FA report reveals tirade of abuse hurled at match officials by Brighton forward following red card at Wolves

Totally agree with the intelligent and articulate bit. He’s clever ….. and he works hard, very hard.

Abuse? Stating a fact, innit?

But goes totally against the never ending Respect campaign. I don't care if he's one of ours. This kind of behaviour needs clamping down on hard. But it won't be, because the Respect campaign is just like the Kick it Our Campaign.... Tick box exercises that have achieved very little.

Things need to change.

You're right. That should have been a red card (as should any swearing at or physical contact with a ref).

But as a fan, you sort of have to take that rough with the smooth. You want to see a bit of passion and someone who's up for the fight

A humble suggestion for reworking... (almost original bangles scan).

It's just another Maupay Monday (Woah, woah)
Scoring goals on Sunday (Woah, woah)
'Coz that's his fun day (Woah, woah, woah, woah)
He’ll make you cry day (Woah, woah) - with everyone doing the eye rub
It's just another Maupay Monday

Also love the Horse with no Name and Friday I'm in Love suggestions but this song is so well known it'd make a fabulous and original Terrace Anthem

I certainly want to see a bit of passion and someone who's up for the fight. I actually quite like niggly players like we had in Barnes, if they can temper it enough not to keep getting sent off or start abusing officials (Barnes didn't trip the ref deliberately that time ).

I'm of the common school of thought that football needs to follow rugby in its respect for officials. Until that day arrives, the Respect campaign is nothing but lip service.
