There were tons of happy clappers on here telling us all we didn't need another striker in the summer. Deluded. As has been said Maupay and Connoly as a starting top two is the worst strike force in the league by miles.

Come on be fair to the lad
It was a great defensive header he made for them
How the flying fukl did he manage to miss that?
He put his head down and let it hit the top of his head
Just not good enough nor is Maupay at present
Thought we were very poor today

Two little-uns up front just isn't working. I commented preseason that Chris Wood would have been a great signing for us and common consensus was he wouldn't fit in our 'system'. I'm sure we would have won today with a player like that up front alongside Maupay.

Connolly was making great runs start of first half and we weren't passing the ball... yep he might have fluffed them but he is better with ball at his feet on the move rather than trying to out jump a defender who is 6 inches bigger.

Now of the view that neither are good enough for the PL trouble is they are what we have and both misfiring badly. GP needs to be knocking on TB's door asking for decent reinforcements

TB should be asking why our £20M scored 10 last season, and suddenly has had a huge drop in form and seems to have been some kind of bust up. You can’t keep splashing out £20M every season on strikers

Can add Trossard to that list, only dangerous when the fool is near our area. Back heels and not a simple pass is madness.

You also have to wonder why Zequiri on his debut gets pushed out to left wing?
Surely if he is a striker leave March on the left and Ali J or Trossard on the right?

Connolly needs to be playing regular Championship football. A loan to a team like Cardiff under former striker Neil Harris could be a great move for the lad.

This. We need to play to their strengths and how we are set up at the moment just doesn't. We could sign a dozen new strikers in Jan, but I'm guessing after a couple of months they'd all be written off as **** under the current regime. Connolly and Maupay both have their uses but the "tactics' just don't use them.

What about when he barely has to jump at all, no defender anywhere near him and has a completely open goal to head the ball into? What’s his excuse then?

He hassles defenders and makes good runs sometimes but does absolutely nothing of use with the ball when he does receive it.

34 premier league appearances, 4 goals and 2 assists. He looks well short of the required quality at the moment, a loan out would be the best move all round.

The chance he had that he managed to head up vertically!? It was gift wrapped, it was harder to do what he did than score!

The Swiss and Wellbeck look a better option. We can't keep with this small men tippy tappy shite. We're rubbish at it.

We’re obviously not as we create a bucket load of chances. What we’re rubbish at is putting the finishing touch on the build up play. Welbeck definitely needs a more prolific strike partner though.

21 shots today with just 5 on target. That's 75% missing the target.
Can't fault Connallys work rate but no composure in front of goal. Maupay needs a goal (or a holiday) to start rebuilding his confidence but no idea where that goal will come from

i agree BUT if you don't play to his strengths then its even worse.... he has also won 3-4 penalties .
