Reliable?

Nope, another ‘ITK’ who spouts lots of stuff hoping one is right.
He might get it right but it’s by luck more than knowledge

Not totally convinced by this guy reading around on the net. Technically good and fast. But short and not that physical. Aside from Martinez these type of players don't usually do that well in the epl.

Seems like Ajax were interested last summer as a replacement for Martinez but they went with the hapless bassey instead.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Would he be only the second player we have singed from Dynamo Kiev (except he came from Dynamo Minsk - didn't read the article properly punish:)

If he is only half as good................ boom.

6 foot tall almost. Not as tall as some but hardly 'short'.

I get where you are coming from if you are comparing this guy with the likes of Dunk, Webster, Colwill and JPvH.

However, it might be more prudent to think of him as a left footed Veltman. Imagine the scenario where Estupinian is (god forbid), ruled out for the rest of the season through injury next month. This Ukrainian could potentially play LB as well as Veltman players RB. We’d probably get away with it. However, with the current squad, losing Estupinian would present RDZ and his team with some really tough problems.

This guy is versatile, very good on the ball, is left footed and knows how to play De Zerbi ball. I think he’d be a brilliant signing of the rumours are true.

So Chelsea are ‘ready’ to submit an offer - so how the hell can a contract be agreed if they haven’t even submitted it and no knowledge that we would even entertain it ?!! Utter garbage !
It's the carrot and stick phenomenon. Buying club contacts agent. Agent tells press. Player gets unsettled with the size of the carrot on offer. Selling club uses stick to beat the crap out of blood sucking agent

Someone said in the Caicedo thread- what does it matter how much it is? We are becoming obsessed with numbers. But what does it matter? How does it actually effect you and your enjoyment of the Albion? In real terms what does it matter if we sign this guy for 3 million or 3 hundred million? If the board sanction it so what? And why does it matter to any Albion supporter if Caicedo eventually leaves for 5, 50, or 500 million pounds? It literally means nothing to us.

Surely it matters to us because we know £80m+ could potentially fund a replacement of similar quality? Also, for a club that’s been so close to oblivion, big fees that secure the future can only be good. I’d rather he didn’t leave even for £150m - but keeping a player that good long term just looks all but impossible.

We know how hugely important ball playing CBs are in this system so makes total sense given he has played in this system before and at a decent level. £20-25m is not a lot for a PL CB we are just too used to finding gems for peanuts.

With Colwill most likely being off the table as a signing and Webster either injured or may struggle with this system (his strength is driving out the defence with the ball) then can see why we are in for this guy

This!

Our entire system relies heavily on what the CB does with the ball from the start of our move. If this lad knows RDZ system and has played it successfully in the past then it is a yes from me when factoring in his left sided nature and his wife’s superb breasts.

I get your point but veltman isn't the best passer so not the best comparison !! But yes we've always liked adaptable players.

de zerbi has been a genius so far so I trust his judgement.

Yep but not just that. He’s left sided which adds huge value in this market.
