There’s not many high quality left footed centre backs who fit the profile and price we’ll be looking for.

Hincapie at Leverkusen is going to be available but he shares the same agent as Moises, and will have other clubs interested,

Facundo Medina from Lens could be interesting, and is a current Argentine international.
there’s more than you think. all the names suggested are great ideas, some more would include

lorenzo pirola - youngster from inter on loan at salernitana. probably won’t get a look in next season, but is a great player. expert at the defensive nitty-gritty, and can ball-play well enough too.

maxime esteve - montpellier player, have already been linked.

jacob greaves - hull. this is our BDB replacement. not as tall but brilliant technical and leadership ability, and can double as a left back

diogo leite - on loan at union berlin from porto, having a stellar season.

dinos koulierakis - PAOK. mentioned him before, still quite young and not playing at an amazing level but he will be a rolls royce of a player

william pacho- royal antwerp. along with hincapie, the other excellent left footed ecuadorean centre back in existence at the moment

abakar sylla - club brugge. absolute beast of a player, great distribution too. will be the starting cb for ivory coast for the next 10 years at least.

natan - red bull bragantino. another absolute monster of a defender. will add pace and physicality which we need. brazil usually have a decent youngster in every position, think he’s the best they have at left centre back.

goncalo inacio - sporting CP. bit of a pipe dream this one as he’d cost at least as much as colwill, but a technically superb player who is probably the one best suited to our system.

obviously not all of these will have the attributes, mentality and be at the right value for us, but there should definitely be SOMEONE out there who does

Colwill is a £60m-£70m player. No chance we are getting him permanently, absolutely zero. He will be straight in their first team next season. Just enjoy him while he’s here. Rolls Royce of a defender.

I’m sure the club already have their left sided centre back lined up for the summer window, be it Matvienko or another prospect.

No way he’s worth that yet imo. He’s not long broken into our side and was a bench player before that. Nobody would pay that money at all imo. We’ve had this before but can’t see how anyone can stt the state there’s 0 chance of us signing a player currently on loan with us and doing well, who’s not yet played for Chelsea properly.

Just two years left on his contract with Chelsea, if he says no to signing a new one (which he might since Chelsea have fourtyeleven central defenders) they might want to ship him. I think maybe around £40m would be enough.

Well I’d love to have him and be proven wrong!

I rate him but seen so many on here convinced we have no chance.. Many said same about the Roma bloke who Bmouth nearly got - we have a chance of getting mist players these days tbh apart from reallllllly proven elite ones - just think there’s a chance - Palace got that donkey and now he’s somehow in the England squad!

Haven't Chelsea got a buy back clause on "that donkey". Give us a greater chance of signing Colwell.

I think it’s perfectly possible that TB would consider 40-50m on Colwill a better investment than 20-25m on Matvienko. And I think he’d be right.
£40- £50M is do-able, I imagine. What isn't do-able is the wages a £40-£50M player would expect and demand.
