So if you dont get the apologist approach what are you going to do about it? In fact there is nothing anyone can do about it so we carry on crying or move on.
Discussing the tackle, the injury and loss of a new signing, the gloating on X by one of their community coaches, and general whinging on the Crawley forum, isn’t crying, so stop trying to act as though you’re better than anyone else.
Some fans are upset, some aren’t bothered, get over it.

What do you mean, what am I going to do about it? There’s nothing I can do about except express my anger and my opinion. And where’s a good place to do that? I know, how about a football forum, in a thread discussing that very topic? For heaven’s sake. That’s what we’re all here for surely? To express opinions and emotions.

What’s really bloody annoying though is to find the place infected by trolls from Palace and Crawley whose only purpose seems to be 1) inflame and agitate other people and then 2) pretend to be so bored and pissed off with people who feel agitated as a result.
But you said :

"Some of the complacency from a few Albion fans is really mystifying. I really don’t understand the pusillanimous 'let’s not make a fuss, these things happen in sport' attitude. This wasn’t a 'coming together'. It was an outright assault on a key player we’ve spent months negotiating with, 6 or 7 minutes into his debut, by a brutal player who has previous for this sort of thing. Not only that, he smiles and winks after the incident. Why the f*** people are so scared of confronting the club and the player, beats me"

No-one is being complacent, and I have no idea who is scared of confronting the player and the club - there is no sensible means or mechanism for us to 'confront the club and the player', nor any reason to do so. Shit happens - Williams is a ****, a proportion of their fans are ****s for celebrating it, the ref was useless and we have an injured player. There's nothing else to understand.

Hemed got his retrospective three-match ban before that nasty VAR came in, when there were rules allowing retrospective bans. Since that nasty VAR that causes all the problems in the game has come in, there are no retrospective bans.
This applies to the PL, where we have that nasty VAR, but I'm not sure of the rules in other competitions -- although multiple posters have posted links indicating that there are no retrospective bans in this cup.
I see.

So VAR made retrospective bans unnecessary. So they were dispensed with. In the EPL.

In other leagues and competitions retrospective bans were dispensed with to align with the EPL. But in other leagues and competitions most have not introduced Nasty VAR.

Sounds perfectly sensible to me.

People should really just shut up about Williams. It was all perfectly fair and has been dealt with properly according to the very excellent rule rubric.

Not one to post this kind of thing, but I have a very good source who tells me he’s expected back in 3 months, so this side of Christmas.
Has to be too early to predict, surely? All depends on the success of the surgery, response to rehabilitation and recovery. I suppose there are average times based on previous cases but as I said earlier, it’s impossible to be accurate because every injury is unique, as is the player.

I miss Andone.

Absolute f***ing nutcase. Mad as a box of frogs.
And, sadly, not very good. 14 Goals in 5 seasons. Only 11 in league matches. 2 League goals a season. Only 3 goals in 29 Segunda division games last season.

In 5 seasons he has scored one fewer goal than Lewis Dunk. Played fewer games, of course. But he's a f***ing striker. Dunk is (well, you know what he is).

I'm gutted, but resigned to the injustice. We see this more often in the NHL and the NFL -- a skilled player is deliberately injured and out for a lengthy period, while the perpetrator rarely gets more than a ban of a few games and a risibly small fine. Every time this happens, a hue and cry is raised that the guilty party should be forced to sit at home until the victim returns to play, and his pay garnished 100% until then. The problem is that a lot of those dirty little a**holes are *also* skilled players, and the owners and players' associations (unions) simply refuse to entertain the idea of suspending a crowd-pulling star for months at a time.

Like I’ve said before, I couldn’t give a shit what you and your little clique think, you are irrelevant. I will voice my opinion when I feel like it. It seems your type want everything your way or the highway, no room for other opinions. If you don’t like it, ignore me like the rest of your little minions!
For someone who claims they "couldn't give a shit" what others on this Forum think, you do seem very defensive.

Me thinks the Poster doth protest too much.

It’s obvious I’m not advocating a march on the People's Pension Megadome with flaming torches and pitchforks. I was, and still am to some degree, an angry and emotional football fan. And I haven’t felt greatly pacified by the vocal minority and their collective shrug of 'shit happens'. If MOR had been injured in a freak collision or by falling awkwardly, yes I’d absolutely be taking the 'shit happens' option (albeit with head in hands). This wasn’t that.

But anyway, I do of course accept that there’s nothing to be done but wait and hope for the best. In return, please accept that sometimes bruised people say things like "something must be done" when, in the cold light of day they have to accept that options are severely limited.

<tips hat and wishes the topic 'good day'>

Not one to post this kind of thing, but I have a very good source who tells me he’s expected back in 3 months, so this side of Christmas.

3 months would be great given how bad it could be, but it's still absolutely gutting.

It's all so unnecessary and unfair... and could literally be the difference between success and failure for us this season.

All because of some scummy dirty player from the lower leagues wanted to prove he was hard against a Premier League player... and gets off scot free.

That's insane, if true. I know our football authorities often make some head-shakingly weird decisions, but that is totally ridiculous.

I did this to death at the time.

His goal to shot ratio and goal to minutes ratio were actually decent, whilst he was with us.
Particularly considering that most of those minutes were coming on at the end of a match to give Murray a breather, during Hughton's Uber Cautious period.

Not all all. I just won’t be intimidated by the likes of them, and I certainly won’t be bullied into silence just for calling out the massive over reaction to last nights events.

This is my feeling about it too, and the main reason I can't agree with those who are saying we should just 'get over it'.

He's a hugely talented player and would have had a massive influence on the squad. I am absolutely certain some of our results will be affected by his absence.

We have a real chance of achieving something this season and to have this impacted by something like this is sickening.

I don't understand how some people on here can blame us for being angry. It was a premeditated challenge designed to deliberately injure one of our key players. And the perpetrator will go completely unpunished.

If you can't get angry with that as a fan of our club, then I guess you can't really be that invested in supporting the team.

You do care, a lot, and we’re clearly far from irrelevant or you wouldn’t keep shouting it from the roof tops! The only person you’re trying to convince is yourself, you’re certainly not convincing anyone else with your little tantrums.

As has been explained to you MANY times over…

1. Polite’ish opinions are welcomed, even yours, that’s the whole point of this forum. None of us are wallflowers.

2. There is no clique, just a common theme, of individuals that take issue with the unnecessarily aggressive, toxic, bitter (‘palace’) way in which you choose to communicate. BHA has (we like to think) a ‘no dick heads policy’ so I would hope does NSC, and you sir, act like a D!ck Head, so don’t get so emosh when people call you out for it. ✌🏻😘

You have the subtlety, emotional intelligence and communication skills of a walnut.
