I can’t understand why Pervis is not coming under scrutiny on here. He was needlessly bombing forward and a simple pass left him hopelessly out of position and left Igor isolated. What was he thinking? View attachment 191287
So many mistakes. The 3 players movement with Weiffer is poor. The 2 rushing to join in including Estupinan sprinting is idiotic. One of the 3 could easily have checked their run, one go to the defender’s left. There is no excusing the pass, but a couple more are just as at fault.

Looking at the picture, we've got 6 in their half and wolves have got 3 include keeper, which why igor is left with a 3-1 on left side

Perfectly illustrated. What were they all thinking (not a lot apparently)

It really is schoolboy stuff from so many players. Weifer has had so much criticism and it was a poor pass but that was a collective clusterfuck even culminating with Igors very poor lack of closing down for the shot.
If Weiffer could pass , it would be 3-1 game over ,

Pleased a bit more balance is showing now. Some of the comments on Saturday were woeful.

I’m reasonably certain MW didn’t intend that pass, just got a bit ahead of himself, it happens. We didn’t lose and Wolves are not as bad as some seem to think.

He is going to need support when he’s next on the pitch.
Agreed, I really hope he gets it

You're spot on with that diagram -- and the movements that should have been made, and weren't. I think things would have been so much easier for MW if YA had gone to the right.
In saying this, I'm not trying to isolate and scapegoat a different player, merely that there's a fair bit of culpability involved here. All of it is heightened by the fact that it was at that stage in the game, and they scored which was far from sealed at the moment the pass was released.

Agree completely , but don't make the pass then. If Wieffer keeps running he either has a free shot , can drop the ball back to another player or the defender has to commit and then there should be an easy pass.
How could he not make a pass from that position? Three of our players completely unmarked who would have been clean through on goal. It was the right decision, just a terrible pass.

And by the way, Igor did nothing wrong, he defended that exactly as he should do and any coach would instruct him to.

Likewise, no blame attached to Hurzeler, at the elite level, you don’t expect a player to make that error that Wieffer did. Likewise, he can’t legislate for individual error’s at the corner. Our game plan was very good against a tough opposition that we knew would defend in a low block with basically two banks of defensive players.
A coach at this level would have told him to engage when the player entered the area. Shearer more or less highlighted that on Saturday, about how far we backed off, which is fine to a point.

TBH, he was running into a position where a pass to him would have been a better option than passing it to Doyle! He could then have fed any of the three in front of him (so long as they manged to stay onside).

I was quite taken by one of the earlier comments about being first to join the goal celebrations 😂😂

But why did Fabian not talk to him?. He should have have reassured him immediately not let him stew all weekend. Very poor and immature from Hurzeler who allowed the situation to become about his anger/frustration rather than the mental state of his player
Maybe he refused to let him in the dressing room and he had to get changed in the corridor?
