They only want you to have an opinion if it's in line with theirs. Typical of a left-leaning city like Brighton

... Says one of the most closed minded posters on NSC. I see myself as pretty central, but i find it interesting that right wingers claim 'lefties' to be closed minded, whereas imo the most close minded, opinionated people I've know have all been much more right wing.

As for the football, yes of course it's not at the standard of top level men's football. But as others have said, you can't compare the two. I enjoyed last night's game far more than I did many of our games last season, for example. Far more entertaining. And remembering some of our many dire attempts to play forward last season, I'd say the quality wasn't all that much worse!

Oh, and I see sussex nobhead has been posting on this thread too. I send my condolences to his readers, as I do to anyone currently suffering from Farmer Giles.

What would this board do without your bile? I for one am grateful to see what crap spills out of your brain. No need to hide you from my list... plenty of entertainment.

I thought, VAR got all decisions right in this game. On balance i think that it is a good thing as it is getting more decisions correct based on the current rules. It is never going to get everything right but progress is certainly being made.

Do the laws need a little tweaking now that we have a way to make sure they are correctly implemented?

Probably.

Really, what decisions did VAR get wrong last night?

It's not a question of getting them right or wrong, I think they generally do get them 'right' although some are dubious decisions, the goal was offside when analysed by TV replays, but was given and not appealed in open play, the length of a finger nail was all . . . . . It's the fact that it ruins the flow of a game . . . . ruins the momentum any one side has and as a consequence spoils a free flowing sport.

Defense all over the place at the moment, it’s not a clearance if you just tap it blindly back into play.

Footballers are soon going to need to be amputees to compete at this rate, they’re basically getting punished for having arms rather than for committing a foul.

At least we came back into it after the first 20 minutes but still poor defending and lack of communication going on. Don't know if we've just run out of steam or teams have figured us out but we need to start just getting out of defence rather than trying to continue playing it out.

Think White very unlucky again so we could've gone in level though I don't think we would've deserved it...

She scored at 32.27. The ref didn't signal that there might be an issue until 33.24 - almost a whole minute later. It really is ruining any form of celebration - yet again, no-one would have suspected there was anything wrong with that goal. No-one appealed, no-one thought it might be ruled out. Not even fully convinced it was really handball either, but that's another matter.
