This.On the basis of that audio recording that was released, no professional club should even contemplate signing him.

I get the point you are making but the victim was never a Defendant. The charges were dismissed because the defendant dropped them. He was then told off for having inappropriate contact with her.
Anyone who has heard the recordings will have made their own mind up on what happened. Disgusting piece of filth.
Seems unnecessarily flip. The headline I saw was her saying she would stop supporting ManU if Greenwood stayed. If she’s anything like representative of the fanbase — certainly the female side of the fanbase — it will have sent a chill through their PR and marketing departments. As a fan and as a woman, her opinion is valuable. Even the home fans were demonstrating last week. Imagine the hostility at away grounds if he ever appeared. Forget his impact on the team, the damage to the Manchester United brand would be colossal, with advertisers and sponsors pulling out.I often base my life decisions on what Rachel Riley thinks so let's go with her verdict.
I hate to feel some sympathy for Man Utd, but I do with this situation. In the eyes of the law (and I assume contract law) they can't simply cancel his contract as he hasn't been found guilty of any crime. On the other hand, there's no way he can play for the club again and no decent club are going to want him. So United are a bit stuck.Surely Man utd, should just sack him? The reputational loss by keeping him will surely be more than any transfer fee loss
Maybe she got wind he's a Corbyn supporter.I often base my life decisions on what Rachel Riley thinks so let's go with her verdict.
Can an internal investigation not come to a conclusion of guilt or breach of contract?I hate to feel some sympathy for Man Utd, but I do with this situation. They should really have just let his contract run out without playing him and not commented further. Pretty much what City did with Mendy
That’s a different girl who he’s had the sprog withAs far as I know, she’s not his ex. They’re together and now have a child.
I'm no lawyer, but I don't see how he could have his contract cancelled. He would argue that his ex-girlfriend posted one-sided stuff on Social Media and he didn't do anything, and as he's never been found Guilty he would legally be correct. Don't get me wrong, everyone knows he's guilty but the law won't see it that way.Can an internal investigation not come to a conclusion of guilt or breach of contract?
e.g if I make some lewd comments on social media - I may not be taken to court but I would be surprised to not lose my job if my employer came across them.
