Why don’t you just go and buy your tickets in the Marseille end and stop bothering actual Brighton supporters.
Because, understandably, he'd rather be in in the Away end with all the Albion - the Home ticket option is just a fallback position.
Personally I think it's great that there's this American studying in Madrid mad keen to watch the Albion play in Marseille - global reach kicking in.

Welcome aboard.

Getting a ticket in the home end may well be possible but have you considered the risks involved? Home fans often don't take too kindly to away fans being in their end so if you do go for it, make sure you're inconspicuous. No colours, obviously, and no celebrating Brighton's goals.

Not every fan is going to have been born with a view of the pier and a stick of rock in hand.
Of course. It’s just surprising to see someone so new to the club on a thread about tickets for one of the biggest games in our history. That applies regardless of nationality or birthplace. Turning up for such a big event and then pissing off again when we start losing makes all of this a bit pointless.

I am not, I'm an American student studying abroad in Madrid. A round trip to Marseille would only be 150 euros give or take, so I was keen on getting out there
Ok, that’s a pretty critical piece of information. If you’re outside the UK I would focus on getting a ticket from Marseille. I saw plenty of CL/EL games when I lived in mainland Europe including a few involving English teams but it never occurred to me to try getting a ticket from the away clubs. That would have made no sense at all. Get one through Marseille. Aim for a part of the ground that isn’t in or near the sections where the home ultras congregate, don’t wear Brighton colours and do behave sensibly— you’ll be fine.

I think he’ll be fine if he behaves sensibly and sits in the right areas. In the unlikely event of being confronted all he has to do is say he’s an American student and has always wanted to see Marseille play!

why not just scroll up and look at the link to the newsletter I posted, where Marseille is advertising their bundle for our game and a game they have 3 days later. I don't enjoy being called clueless lad
Thought it was a wind up in all honesty, but fair enough didn’t see you were studying in Madrid. Yeah it’s gonna be pretty hard to get tickets with 5k applications, and our first European game, you should try for the home end. Make sure you emphasise you are American and they’ll leave you alone, from a mates experience, as long as your aren’t with the ultras they won’t care.

Isn't the most likely thing that ticket-hunter Sam is an American student who likes Brighton and happens to be living in Madrid at the moment?
He might have fell in love with Brighton when we were playing in the USA recently, and has helped expand our international audience which is great (y)

I started watching EPL about a year and a half ago because my friends back home do, and I chose Brighton because I didn't want to be a fan of a big 6 club. I'm here to support just as you all are.
