How DO you smuggle flares and 20 foot long flagpoles in (not that I want to)? Inside some grands pantalons? Is that maybe why they’re called flares?

I wouldnt be surprised if the huge flags, megaphone and limited amount of pyro for authorised fan display members were pre requested by Marseille official supporters club and after discussion, permitted by Albion. I know we say no to this in England, but Marseille might have requested on the basis that this is their football culture in France and they have a trusted and authorised number of members who take responsibility for a pre-agreed number of pyros, and this way it will stop the masses trying to smuggle in their own pyro - seems like the only reasonable conclusion to me, bearing in mind the stewards/police didnt pile in and remove fans/pyros.

What was going on with them chucking what looked like shirts at the police / home fans in the South stand at half time?

They made it a proper European night of football a winning late goal flares smoke bombs and limbs, fantastic.
Particularly good of them to fire up the pyros in support of our goal. Put our little smoke bomb to shame certainly.

Great that the club allowed them to bring in their flags, megaphones and presumably had limited searches given the number of flares that made it into the stadium

If only they were not so draconian with home support. Something for the head of security to consider maybe, presuming he is not totally preoccupied with the Post Office scandal inquiry laying out in public what a nasty piece of work he is

Seriously? We all thought it said CUBA
I thought the other banner said "DOGGERS" which seemed very strange until someone pointed out it was DODGERS. In my defence, it was a little creased where by the second D. The fact I have an opticians appointment after work today is unrelated.
