We need a goal scorer he is a goal scorer who will get signed up by somebody so why not us. Not a time for us to be judge and jury again he has served his punishment.

Mate seriously think about it.... come on, you dont want that anywhere near our club.

We wouldnt be asking him to be holier than thou as some on here appear to be. We would be asking him to score goals for us. If he did that and behaved himself no problem, when he stepped out of line as he may well do, we get rid but until then accept the goals he scored. I cannot understand how people on here can be so sanctimonious and be judge and jury yet once again. All we know about him is what is written in the papers and everybody knows what a load of rubbish reporters say in their paper to help sell it. Most reporters are bigger liars or twisters of the truth than politicians.

14 convictions, but yeah, I'm sure they were all "rubbish".
Its probably cos he's black or something, isn't it.

Oh, and you didn't answer my question

Tell you what. What if this character had sexually assaulted YOUR daughter, or beaten a member of YOUR family to a bloody pulp, served his sentence, and come out of prison looking for a club. Would you be quite happy to see him turn up in the stripes ?

Well ?

Possibly. Sadly, the same can't be said about eye witnesses, judges and juries. If it is 'holier than thou' to be against big blokes smashing young girls in the face when they get rejected, count me in.

The jury found him guilty, the judge sentenced him and now fans want another bite at the cherry.

so you'd be happy to sign Ian Huntley should he of been a footballer and "done his time" ?

I can accept what people are saying that as a man he is not what many people would chose as a son in law; but he is a goal scorer and we dont have to like him as a man just like the goals he scores that help us get promoted; and then when he has served his purpose or transgresses again out him.

That is a ridiculous comparison because he committed a crime that the judge thought warranted a very long sentence. In Marlon Kings case considering the offence, which carries a possible life sentence, I think, the judge decided it only warranted a shortish sentence.

As Easy 10 said BG. How would you feel if one of his crimes affected a relative of yours? Would you still be OK with signing him?

Probably not but what he did didnt affect me in any way. Perhaps that is being self centred but I still do not believe that it was as serious as many like to make out. If it was, as the charge was for GBH he would have got a lot longer as many people get 5 years or more.

No I am not as I have witnessed too much violence in my time in pubs etc but in terms of the punishment dished out for GBH it was deemed a minor offense, rightly or wrongly by the judge.

I think I shall just have to accept that I am in a minority with my view and refrain from posting on this subject any more.
