It’s very much a solid 7 season. It’s a hard thing to change style and still get results. We just about did that and the Xg (yes I know!) suggests we did really very well. I fear that final 10% of quality won’t be added in the summer but nonetheless with what we have I still fancy a good mid table finish next season.

I was going to go for a 6 as I feel performance wise we did better than last season as there was barely a game we weren’t competitive in.

Then I added an extra point for the Liverpool away and City wins as they are two of the most memorable results in our history.

If that was the case I wouldn't waste my time watching games! Unlike many on here I wasn't impressed earlier in the season by lots of possession and giving away soft goals.

Defence excellent after shaky first couple of months and showed Potter learned and adapted.
Played some briilliant football and so comfortable on the ball.

Sanchez
Some great players Dunk Webster White Veltman Lampty, some really good Burn March Welbeck Lallana ocassionalt Trossard

But let down by terrible finishing that didn’t even need quality stickers to score and a sense of panic in the final third and also when we talked the lead.

Overall so much potential some great performances but so frustrating as we were way better than 16th. Also didn’t get a great deal of luck. Hope we can kick on next season as we play great stuff.

We weren't way better than 16th because we made mistakes all season, which undid a lot of the good work. Time and again we lost concentration at key moments and regularly lost leads that we had worked hard to gain. We lack a bit of steel at times and if we lose our most aggressive and dynamic midfielder, it will leave a big hole. Ultimately, we didn't deserved to finish any higher. Sixteen teams won more games than us and if you study the PL table over the years, league position is generally determined by number of wins. Newly promoted Leeds won twice as many games as us. They deserved to finish 9th.

We've played some great football.
We've been lauded by top managers, wanky pundits and sports journalists.
We've beaten top 6 clubs including the League champions
We weren't one of the founder members of the ESL.
We still play true to form and win against good clubs whilst losing against shit ones.
We get bad referrees to make bad decisions and make up new rules.

We all desperately want to get back to the Amex, even the lucky buggers who went last week.
It's still, still, hard to be a Brighton supporter.
It's never been better.
Without a doubt next year will be better.
Potter has proven too himself, and us, that he knows what he is doing.

We’re still guilty of inconsistent levels of performance and too often look toothless in attack, but I don’t think there’s a single player who’s gone backwards this season, except possibly Maupay.

I really thought he’d get a few more this time around, and am desperately willing him to have a better 21/22 season. He is only 24, this next season will decide me on him for good, and I’m really hoping that GP can fashion one of Tau/Zeqiri/Andone/Connolly into a Premier League striker, because he needs competition.

At least GP knows exactly what he’s got now in the forward line, he’s coached them all first-hand, and I’ll be interested to see who’s out on loan next season and who’s still in the squad.

Not implausible to me.

If we take a few more risks and are prepared to be more open and risk conceding more, I think we could eek out another 6 wins out of the 14 draws we've had at the cost of another 3 defeats

That extra 9 points, gives us 50. Mid table

The great majority of the draws we've battered our opponents.

Got to look at Leeds. They are that high because they've barely drawn

- Most minutes given to academy players in the league
- Solid defensively (only conceding more goals than Chelsea since Christmas)
- Sanchez
- Bissouma
- Veltman being the bargain of the season
- Some superb football
- Beating Leeds. Twice. (More to do with their arrogant fan base than anything else tbh)

The not so positives
- Dropping so many points from winning positions
- Failing to beat any of the bottom four (Sheffield United, West Brom, Fulham, Burnley)
- Not converting enough of the plethora of chances we create into goals
- More baffling than negative, recalling Karbo and Tau and then barely playing them (especially the former considering the injuries to Lamptey and March). They should have just stayed out on loan

To progress
- Competition for the wing back positions
- A decent striker
- Replace Bis if he goes

In 55 years of watching BHA, I have only ever looked at results. It has not bothered me one tiny jot if we stunk the place out, as long as we won. I have never gone to watch pretty football. Only winning football. And if you can't win, make sure you don't lose. Very few teams in football history have been able to play glorious attacking football and win most of the time. It requires high class players throughout the side. For the rest, its normally mix and match and try and get the best out of what you have.

Being generous.

We've looked good but been shit at getting the job done, like a lot of bands in the 80's /90's getting on TOTP but frankly playing bobbins pop barely worthy of anyone with working ears. Menswear !

Tricky one for me. Considering our current status, it's a 7. An average season for our Premier League history as far as final position goes, but my score is bolstered by the potential this team is showing and watching a superstar like Bissouma in an Albion shirt. If I was scoring this season compared to our overall history, it would be a 9 at least. So I'll score an 8.

In 55 years of watching BHA, I have only ever looked at results. It has not bothered me one tiny jot if we stunk the place out, as long as we won. I have never gone to watch pretty football. Only winning football. And if you can't win, make sure you don't lose. Very few teams in football history have been able to play glorious attacking football and win most of the time. It requires high class players throughout the side. For the rest, its normally mix and match and try and get the best out of what you have.

Premier League must be horrible for you then.

I'm sure plenty are expecting me to mark it right down but it's a 6 for me, which doesn't seem unpopular.

Poor start to the season and very frustrating against defensive opposition. The finishing never really got better and we've only managed the same points as last season and one place below.

On the other hand the improvement has been in the latter part of the season. With fans back we should do much better at home and a decent transfer window might finally move us away from 16th place / 40 ish points purgatory. Sanchez in sorted the set piece defending issues, we have had injuries and when Lallana and Welbeck have been healthy they've looked excellent.

Unsurprising that I think our defence has greatly improved over the season but the finishing, decision making and approach play needs to be next on the list.
