According to Naylor they get the info first and sometimes - just sometimes - NSC gets the info at the same time. How DARE you suggest that he gets his info from NSC!

If he did get that first, he probably shouldn't have sat on it for half a week...

Reading the article, it suggests that Painter never actually rejected the deal, it was just part of the negotiation. Technically, there was no story then and is no story now. The story will surely be when he signs or says I am definitely not signing for Brighton.

I can't believe we are going to sign Kevin Phillips as it would be such an amazing coup. Surely he would have better offers from Championship clubs. However, the rumour keeps coming up and stranger things have happened.

He was offered terms on a two year deal but rejected them.

I said at the time I imagine things will move on from there.

It's not like Tony Bloom is an incredibly successful BUSINESSMAN or anything...

I understand he's a professional poker player and property investor - but I never realised he had experience negotiating with footballers and their agents?

Well as long as he remembers to avoid offering a tank of petrol a week as a final inducement I'm sure he'll manage to work out how to do it and be quite succesful at it. The fact that we actually appear to have the money to offer sensible contracts will be a massive improvement on the brinksmanship of previous years, I'm sure.

I think that the rumour of signing Kevin Phillips is just that a rumour as the tabloids said at the weekend he is wanted by Leicester and Coventry who are both in The Championship and nearer to his home so no moving. In his position I know which of the 3 clubs I wouldnt consider.

Do you know where he lives then?

Bearing in mind he spent a few recent seasons at Southampton...

If there was ANY doubt that they were somehow too inexperienced to negotiate a contract then they would have the right people in to do it anyway! What absolute rubbish.

If we are to build a promotion team for next season then we have to pay the going rate,we cant afford not to,Falmer would be a disaster if we remain in Div1.The standard of play in this division would be no better in a new stadium.
The previous chairman had a policy of buying late and cheap which almost got us relegated to Division 2,we cant risk this happening again.
