Funnily as I posted it they showed the replay and there was a slip. Still looked an awful pen and he didn’t seem confidence. He’s 19 still, it will come back and our fans must stick with the lad. The potential is huge.
Yes the slip showed up in my video I posted above.

He seemed off balance to me when he took the pen - I guess because the foot that was planted slipped as he kicked the ball. I agree that leading up to it, his demeanour and body language did not look confident - that may have caused him not to be centered to begin with.

- such a shame, however it is not unusual for strikers to go through dry spells - it’s almost like writer’s block - he’ll be punching them back in again soon.

Not sure that will help

Lol - I meant low, fast, on target and powerful, avoiding obstacles and airlift - with his feet obviously (not a hand or golf club punch 🙂)

The Saturday review:-

Lewis Dunk came on as a 67th minute substitute as England lost 1-0 to Brazil in a friendly at Wembley Stadium.

Deniz Undav came on as an 80th minute substitute to make his debut for Germany in a 2-0 win at France in a friendly.

Pascal Gross got a nice little rest for Germany as an unused substitute in the same match.

Evan Ferguson started for the Republic of Ireland, missed a penalty and played 70 minutes as Belgium were held to a 0-0 draw in a friendly.

Samy Chouchane was an unused substitute for Tunisia as they lost 4-5 on penalties to Croatia after a 0-0 draw in the FIFA Series: Egypt "tournament".

Simon Adingra started for the Ivory Coast and played 63 minutes as they drew 2-2 with Benin in a friendly in France.

Goalkeeper Steven Hall played the whole match for the Australian U-23s as they drew 1-1 with Egypt in the WAFF U-23 Championship semi-final. He was then the hero in the penalty shoot-out as he saved two penalties as the Olyroos advanced 2-1.

Adrian Mazilu played the whole game and scored a great winner in the 3rd minute of added time as the Romania U-19s beat Germany 3-2 in their European Championship Elite Round qualifier.

Noel Bigo Atom played the whole match for the German U-19s in the same game.

Adam Brett was an unused substitute as the Wales U-17s lost 2-1 to Sweden in their European Championship Elite Round qualifier.

The Monday preview:-

There will be exactly zero Albion players on international duty on Monday. The only game that had been scheduled was Paraguay's friendly in Russia, but that was cancelled on Saturday following the terrorist attack in suburban Moscow on Friday.

However, this is the calm before the storm as there will be a tsunami of activity on Tuesday.

Frankly, if you can't find an obscure Albion youth prospect in international action tomorrow, you might want to consider your position here.

Maguire out of the England squad, so a decent chance Dunk starts tomorrow evening.

Nah - waistcoat has already called up a Manchester City youngster to avoid that!

Seriously, it would be good to see Dunk and Colwill together for England. That was a pretty damn good pairing for the Albion last season - and it would free up Stones for the DM role that everybody thinks would be a good idea for him.

100% Dunk and Colwill with Stones at the base would be interesting to see.

The Tuesday preview:-

Tuesday March 26 2024 will be a historic day for Albion. There will be an astonishing 22 players on international duty tomorrow. To put this into context, as recently as 2016-17 we had "just" 23 of our players called up over the course of the ENTIRE season.

Jakub Moder and his Poland colleagues will be attempting to reach EURO 2024 against Wales via the Qualifying Play-Off Path A final at Cardiff City Stadium.

Mahmoud Dahoud will hope to make his debut for Syria in a World Cup AFC Second Round Group B qualifier against Myanmar in Saudi Arabia.

Lewis Dunk will be hoping for a start for England in their friendly against Belgium at Wembley Stadium.

Pascal Gross might see some playing time for Germany as they host the Netherlands in a friendly.

Deniz Undav will be looking for his second cap for Germany in the same match.

Bart Verbruggen starts for the Netherlands and will be hoping to keep out his club colleagues.

Billy Gilmour and Scotland host Northern Ireland in a friendly at Hampden Park.

Evan Ferguson and the Republic of Ireland host Switzerland in a friendly at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

Andrew Moran also joined up with the ROI squad having played for the U-21s earlier in this window.

Samy Chouchane will be hoping for the opportunity to make his senior debut for Tunisia as they face New Zealand in the third place play-off of their FIFA Series tournament in Egypt.

Simon Adingra and the Ivory Coast face Uruguay in a friendly in Lens, France.

Tariq Lamptey and Ghana play Uganda in a friendly in Marrakech, Morocco.

Valentin Barco and Facundo Buonanotte will be hoping for more minutes for Argentina as they play Costa Rica in a friendly at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Goalkeeper Steven Hall and his Australia U-23 teammates face South Korea in Saudi Arabia in the final of the West Asian Football Federation U-23 Championship.

Yasin Ayari and the Sweden U-21s travel to North Macedonia for a European Championship Group C qualifier.

Kacper Kozlowski and the Poland U-21s host Bulgaria in a European Championship Group D qualifier.

Ruairi McConville and the Northern Ireland U-21s travel to Serbia for a European Championship Group F qualifier.

James Beadle, with the England U-20 squad, face the Czech Republic in a European Elite League fixture in Ostrava.

I’m sure we’ve probably done the Adam Brett thing on here but the chances of it are quite funny.

Congratulations to Albion U-16 academy player Adam Brett who helped the Welsh U-17s to a win over Bulgaria today to secure a place in the 2024 UEFA European U-17 Championship Finals in Cyprus in May.

To be clear we are talking about THIS Adam Brett

Dunk starts for England, Gilmour starts for Scotland, Ferguson starts for the Republic of Ireland (with Moran on the bench), Verbruggen starts for the Netherlands, both Gross and Undav are on the bench for Germany.

No Syrian debut for Mahmoud Dahoud who again fails to make the matchday squad.
