My, albeit rookie view, is that Cucurella going is inevitable IF Manchester City offer the right amount (only the board will know so it is pointless discussing it).
The real question is how to move forward without him. The way I see it we either a) throw dollar bills about, like Trump trying to fend off sexual assault cases, to desperately try and replace him like for like b) replace him with a couple of players. One who can fill the left sided defensive center part of Cucurella's game and one who can fill in the left sided offense he provided or c) promote from within - maybe a combination of Clarke/Ostigard/Van Hecke/Cochrane

If it were up to me I would probably go for a combo-deal of b) and c). Maybe add Clarke/Van Hecke and then find a left sided offensive defender to cover and compete with March/Trossard (I though Trossard did well in a similar position towards the end of the season).

Anyway those are my thoughts folks. I am still learning these things but the club seems to have plans so I am pretty comfortable about it.

Some real low ball numbers being quoted by NSC on here. Consider that:

He was our player of the season (both players' and supporters') in a season where he played a big part in us finishing 9th.
We only just bought him (he has 4 years left on his contract.)
He plays in a position where quality natural left footed players are as rare as hen's teeth.
We have no immediate replacement and would have to spend a shit load of money to replace him.
It's Manchester City.

I see no difference between this situation and when they offered to buy Grealish off of Villa. You wanna buy the best player of a team that finished 9th in the PL with 4 years left on his contract?

Because, like me you are a long time Albion fan and big highs generally get followed by lows when good players leave.?

This time I am not letting myself get into that mindset as we are now a very well run club

Not saying it won’t happen but selling players for big money is part of the game plan now isn’t it? Depends on how many is too many, only one has gone so far….

This week I have got back in touch with my old training group from my graduate job. I realised that it was during our five week training that we played Denmark and Brazil in the 02 World Cup. The reason this is relevant because when I finished the compulsory graduate training bit in that job I got a bonus. I can’t remember how much but I am pretty sure I spent it on getting my name on a seat in the new stadium if/when it was built. In the meantime that money (maybe 500 quid or so) would help to keep the club going. As it turned out I got on a stone on the wall, but it is nuts that less than two decades ago we donated a few hundred quid each to keep the club running and now we might get close to 200 million in player sales in roughly a 12 month period.

Once again the fixture list appears to be favourable.
You would think, like last season, the squad would be above all that nonsense early, making it almost impossible to drag themselves into it.

Whether top 10 is still on the table will depend on who steps up and 2 or 3 games going our way.
