Not running this year but plan to do it next year. Gonna start training after my exams in early June giving me around 10.5 months.

Is it advised to maybe go to see a doctor first to make sure your heart's okay etc?

Gently clambering off the crocks bench after a month out with calf problems (or perhaps not......more of that later in the week once I have seen the physio)

Didn't start the SDW50 yesterday as couldn't run more than 10 mins without having to stop in significant pain on Monday. Eased massively since then and run a bit the last three days, so might still turn up next week for a plod round the city.

Dropped from SDW50 at 34 miles, Southease, yesterday. Good to meet dazzer6666 there.
Didn't finish the race, so not counted in my list of Marathons/Ultras.

34 miles must count. More than I'll ever do. You had a strong wind to run into all the way. Excellent challenge to take on. Well done.

Counts as a marathon I reckon, it's still 34 miles FFS. Good to meet you there Bob, sorry it didn't quite work out but there'll be other days. You did 34 miles more than I did fella !

A swathe of updates have been notified over the weekend. The list is for finished marathons/ultras.

Bob! didn't stay for very long in sabbatical. Now running Three Forts Marathon. If anyone hasn't done it & looking for a cross country marathon in Sussex, this one is for you. It is hard though, starting in Worthing & taking on Cissbury Ring, Truleigh Hill, Devils Dyke & Chanctonbury Ring, but the views are to die for, and those hills (well). What goes up does go down ........... eventually!

Getting more and more excited for Sunday and praying I stay fit and healthy. Should be getting my REMF vest today, a last three miler with coach tomorrow for final instructions then it's just a count down. Should be a group of us from here close to the 3"45 pacer, till we make a break for it somewhere on the seafront :)

After my 17 miler on Saturday, I think I can realistically target 3:45 as well. My broken toe now feels absolutely fine and I feel as if I'm going to be able to turn in a reasonable performance - but it's entirely possible my chronic lack of preparation will kick in and slow me down... we'll see. I ran a 3:37:55 last year but I can't expect to beat that this time out. Very much looking forward to the turn at Shoreham!

Come and join the gang. Meeting in front of the central cafe in Preston Park after 7.45 (I'm an obsessive about getting to places early!). If delayed then probably lining up close to the 3.45 pacer in the blue corral.

I'll come and find you fellas, always good to go hunting in packs before leaving the pacer for dead late on!

Good luck to everyone running the next Brighton one. I won't be there this time (I've done them all prior :/) cause I really couldn't be arsed this year. Will probably end up doing 2017 though :)

Steve Foster - interesting your comment about re FINISHED marathons/ultras - what's the 100MC view on what Bob! did on Saturday - would they still accept that as a qualifying marathon ?

One more shameless bounce before the big day. Both the NSC family and my network of friends have been fantastic and I've just crept over the £1,500 mark. Marvellous scenes!

https://www.justgiving.com/JimHasTheHornAgain

I checked in with the good folk at Save The Rhino yesterday and apparently there are going to be three out there on Sunday. That's enough for a "crash". I'll try and pop something on mine to show I'm the NSC one on the day. Whether that's a scarf or a name tag with "NSC Rhino" on or whatever I'm not sure yet.

Good luck to all of you out there in Sunday and thanks again to those of you that have been kind enough to donate.

Good luck to everyone doing Brighton on Sunday. My initial goal of sub 4 is now just getting around.

I was injured last few months of 2015 and missed out on my third snowdonia. Just glad to be running again.

Think you have to finish to count as an event
