Haha so my race strategy will be simply to resist scoffing at the party table. I can see the scene now.. 90 or so people in sweaty lycra tucking in to the mini scotch eggs, whilst the speedsters do their stuff..grreat!

Well done! And well done in reaching double figures too! At least the weather was as good as you could expect for this time of the year.

I still haven't done an event extending more than 30 miles & your write up hasn't persuaded me otherwise yet. 26.2 is enough for my little legs. So after a well deserved rest what's next?

Milage reduces for me next week..its taper time! I hate taper time though, so i might just run through it rather than traditionally eat and drink through it! Good NSC showing for Beachy in two weeks.

2 Thumbs Up!
Well run Greg Bobkin today

'IOW marathon: 4:09.

The hill at the end is horrible, but on the plus side I didn't stop running until I got to it, which was 24 miles.

Very happy, even though I thought sub four might have been possible'

Keep running!

Weirdly, I have been following a new sub 3:30 training programme & the week before the marathon - the mileage is still very high. 50 miles this week! Cripes!!

Well run BrianWade4 who completed the Amsterdam marathon last weekend.

Just got home from Eden Project marathon. 4:13:39 which I'm very pleased with given the challenging course. Not a PB but a big improvement on my Brighton 2015 debacle. Great race through some cracking countryside. Pint of bitter and a cornish pasty at the end was an added bonus. Downland Devil next for me, then Brighton half and full training begins.

Is anyone doing Beachy going to attempt to get to the game after ? Not sure it's doable, but tempted to try.........expecting to be close to 5 hrs, so straight to the car (parking as close to St Bede's as I can), drive to Lewes Station (30 mins) and might make it close to kick off ? Any thoughts ?

Well done to everyone who ran Beachy Head or Snowdon marathon yesterday. Both are wonderful events & I trust the hills were not too hard .....

Let us know how you faired and what you have planned next (after a long recovery, no doubt!)

Agreed

I DNS due to illness. Gutted. Velothon next hopefully in a couple of weeks.

We'll run at Beachy Pembury 3:54, Ninja Elephant with 4:57, The May Tradles 4:20

I am now in training for the Brighton Marathon. It will be my sixteenth as last marathon. Mind you I've said that before

Down by the river
Managed to get round Beachy Head - 4:34. A fair bit off my last marathon time but I was actually anticipating it would be longer towards the end, have to admit it was tougher even than I was expecting. Whereas my first marathon I hit the mental wall, this time round it was much more of a physical one - definitely could have been better conditioned going into the race, legs were just knackered by about mile 20. Fantastic course though, despite the camber, and good support and marshalling. Brighton 2016 up next, with some more 'fun' runs (Tough Guy, Fan Dance) in between, unless I lose my head and sign up for another marathon between now and April. Looking forward to my first road marathon, will definitely be going for a PB

#90 finished in Dublin in 3:35.44. Pleased with that. 7th fastest marathon to date. Still life in my aging legs.
