Today I ran the Battle of Britain Marathon - a one off marathon in Dover, to commemorate the events of 75 years ago. After a rendition of God Save The Queen to our fallen fighter pilots, the 100 of us, ran the 7 loops to make up the marathon distance (you could run more or less loops if you liked). The 7 loops totalled 27 miles & with half of each loop being undulating and running thereafter out & backs along the sea wharf - was really windy; good times were not on the cards. My 4:18 was okay for the 88th marathon. It was the best medal that I have ever received. Truly amazing.

A day or so rest, then marathon 89 at the end of the month.

Nice bit of tin that - hopefully made from the melted down remnants of a German fighter ?

14 of us in training for the marathon distance. Anyone else?

The numbers below are how many Official marathons or races of at least 26.2 miles NSC folk have run. Are we the fittest set of supporters in the league?

Crawled around the Isle of Wight half today in 1:36:07. So very hilly, and not much nice scenery either which was a shame. Preparations for Eastbourne Marathon in October are well underway.

Now that summer is over (did it really start), those miles can increase over autumn ....

Today I ran the Cakeathon Marathon in Deal. Wet, wet, wet but pleased with my 4:08 as there were loads of puddles, two hills on the 8 lapped course, but managed a 6th place. Lots of cake - think Bake off meets marathons!

And look at this medal. The size of a plate!View attachment 68179

Nice bit of tin and a good time. Pictures of cake would have been preferable [emoji3]

Will remember next time. Good luck doing Pilgrim marathon. It's a good one.

Whatever your time - by the looks of things you'll be our only marathon runner this month!

Cheers......possibly now have a couple in Oct and one in Nov too. I love the Pilgrim - one of the best. Great organisation, nice route. Will be taking it easy. :D

Well ran yesterday Dazza at Pilgrim. So which is your new marathon or ultra challenge?
I have only done Pilgrim once in 2012, but would thoroughly recommend it.

So are we all done for September?

Any recommendations for a marathon in the UK Autumn time & one in December (anywhere in the world).

Making plans for #98 & #99 .... Next year

Exciting......where will #100 be ? Was Berlin today, how about that for Autumn ? PB course apparently.....

Beachy Head next up for me in Oct, then Velothon in Nov (maybe a PB attempt, going to be boring otherwise !)

#100 will be Jerusalem
#101 Brighton (all being well)

I did the Berlin half a few years ago, but not done the marathon - a good shout.

Love Beachy - done it a number of times. As for the Velothon - not for me!
