If the keeper has weak hands in that moment I can’t see why it’s disallowed. He pushes it onto Mitoma’s arm. I still think the result would have been a draw just wondering why keepers get so much protection.
If the keeper has his hands on the ball, and an opposition player plays that ball - how 'strong' or 'weak' he is is irrelevant. You can't challenge a keeper who has 'control of the ball'.

And if it touched Mitoma's arm at all (which it looks like it might have twice), then it is ruled out anyway.

I think Hooper (as ever) guessed - but had he given it, I'm pretty sure it gets ruled out antway.

Manage to catch up on the match, actually thought BHA were unlucky not to win, one silver lining was seeing Pep doing his usual twisting to the ref at the end of the game.

Surely the keeper must have his hands on the ball 'and' be in control. Not sure Ortega actually was in control. The handball is another thing though.

Yeh, I agree that in a common sense world going for a 50/50 ball (without excessive violence or endangering an opponent of course) would not be regarded as a foul - but football's current rules and regulations are frequently not based on common sense, or at least don't make any allowances for it.

I don't think it touched Mitoma's arm at all.

It was close as to whether the keeper had in under control, but I'd guess he had enough of it.

Given that they decided they had enough evidence to go with the on field call, they never really looked at this. I agree that what the angles we have seen are inconclusive but there are three points where it might have hit his hand or arm. The first is by his outstretched arm, when the ball bounces up - before it even reaches the keeper. The second in the moment it is knock out of / away from Ortega’s gloves, and finally when the ball drops onto Mitoma and into the net. The last one is probably only his shoulder / back. The other two I’m less sure.

Wonder if Hooper would of blown up if this happened down the other end

I suspect not. I do not think the decision was an egregious one, I'm not surprised it was disallowed. I would argue that Ortega did not have control of the ball, he had two hands touching the ball but he was not holding it. As for the handball element, I'd say the replays were inconclusive.

I can see why it wasn't given on the pitch and I do not think the replays showed enough to overturn the decision. If the goal was given I think it may have stood as they may have gone with the refs judgment on whether keeper had control of the ball.

I still can't really get over just how bad Baleba's finish was. Absolute sand wedge.
Oh, the bobble totally did him. It was smoothly going over the ground and then bobbled up a couple of feet away or so. He's totally focused on hitting it cleanly and the bobble gave him no chance. Thats flying in without it.
