VAR disgraceful as was the referee. Seems like he wanted to be friends with Man City’s players, it’s hard enough playing a fine team like City without having a cheating referee in charge.

The lads did well today, hopefully we’ll take that into our next match against that half a job prick Potter.

We can't realistically have asked for more than that away at City. Some positives out there, we actually scored a goal and didn't get spanked. Good effort from the boys especially in the second half.

Would like to see more of Gilmour, looks very tidy in the middle. Sarmiento, Lamptey and Estupiñan added some much needed energy when they came on.
Agreed

We can't blame RDZ for sticking with an 11 who were playing well and winning, he needs to learn about his players, was good to see some alternatives toward the end

it'll be interesting to see his aproach next weekend.

I'm sharpening my comb in anticipation. 😂

ManC held to only 10 shots at home... We had more possession, more succesful passes... Albion put up a great fight and played an entertaining game. Be proud! We've proven that we can play with the big boys. It's all coming together. 😎👍

We scored...we played well, we lost to the champions with a standard of performance that we need to keep for as much of the season as we can.

Glad to hear the comments about the youngsters cameos' Mitoma has been missed but good to see others being given a chance.

I think the players will be very pumped up for Chelsea, can’t wait
Course they will. Think the fans will too. The only question is if the players who are going there in January will want to show Potter how good they are or stay in his good books.

No guarantee anybody is going there, if they do they’ll be bench warmers, even Caicedo who’ll do a Bissouma. Too much quality at Chelsea and watch the meltdown and abuse at Potter when they lose a couple of games. Toxic club

With any luck they’ll start today by losing to United

Not a bad afternoon cleaning, having a walk in the park and going to Tesco. I see we're back to taking the positives.

What a truly wonderful competition the Premier League is and what a delight it is to be part of a group of 14 clubs who count a 3-1 defeat as a good thing. Long live the FA and UAE. Arise Sir Haaland.
Yeah, I agree, it's so pointless. Man City away is as boring as an International break.

Kudos to those who went, but I cannot imagine something that is a bigger waste of time and money.

Ah well. Lewes v Hornchurch on Tuesday.

Solly March on his side's spirited performance: "I think it is positive, in the second half we gave it a good go. The first two goals we conceded were a bit sloppy, but the goal from the Kevin de Bruyne was class and finished us off."

"We know Erling Haaland is strong and quick but we thought the first goal was still stoppable."

"If we play like we did today we'll be alright next week. It's frustrating not to score goals but the chances are there and if we put them away we will get points."

Is it worrying you've not won in five matches? "If we're not creating chances then it would be but we are creating them."

On facing former boss Graham Potter's Chelsea next: "It will be a big game, hopefully the fans will be up for it and give them a performance to be proud of. We will be up for it."

A week early for Bonfire Night maybe, but fireworks can be expected...

Only saw last 20 mins of second half we looked very good, passing our way out from the back with ease, great one touch passing

On the coach and leaving the Etihad proud of the team. That second half was excellent. At 2-1 we had them rattled and it was only a piece of genuine class on the break from De Bruyne that sealed our fate. The team were fired up and played angry after the injustice of the first half. They stood up for themselves and the journey back will no longer be an arduous one. We move on to the next one.

Roberto de Zerbi, speaking to BBC Match of the Day:

"We played a good game against one of the most of the important teams in the Premier League, Europe and the world - but we lost."

"I think in the first half we were a little afraid and then the second half maybe we changed the mentality. The players wanted to score a goal and open the game."

"We had a chance to score for 2-2 but in the second half we played very, very well."

On whether the VAR decision to give a penalty to Manchester City, from which they scored their second goal, was correct:

"I don't know. My job is not to analyse the referee. I'm not happy but I don't want to speak too much about the referee, the decision or VAR."

"I want to analyse my team and the quality of my team. I believe if we continue to play in this level we will win many games."

what annoys me is the inconsitency in the same game. Haarland bulldozes his man and scores and then Dunk is adjudged to be fouled for much less of a "foul" and gets a free kick
The penalty I think wasnt , he had lost the ball and then looked for contact, and then waved his leg around. Third goal was a beauty though
Totally agree.
