Who was the bloke we signed from Chelsea, the young lad?haven’t seen his name anywhere
do you mean Levi Colwill (on loan)? If so, just debuted so far in the Man U win hasn't he?

We can't realistically have asked for more than that away at City. Some positives out there, we actually scored a goal and didn't get spanked. Good effort from the boys especially in the second half.

Would like to see more of Gilmour, looks very tidy in the middle. Sarmiento, Lamptey and Estupiñan added some much needed energy when they came on.

Well, kind of predictable - City are better than us. Some positive moments. I’m off to the pub. Have a lovely weekend all ✊
But a little less predictable than some against them. And bearing in mind that the general feeling seemed to be that we'd do well to keep below a three goal defeat, we can be fairly pleased I think.

Caicedo played well, March played well, Sanchez looked ropey (not just his goal, but some of his kicking), defence looked okay apart from the first goal. We'll be fine I think.

The stats say this is another couldashoulawoulda. Good that we weren’t at all disgraced in what on paper is the most difficult game of the season - away to probably the best team in Europe at the moment. Enough to work on and have hope for. Usual striker issues - whether this will ever be solved is probably down to luck rather than chequebooks.

Much better performance. Bit of steel, grit and determination. Was always going to be difficult to get anything from this one but at 2-1, we looked like we might snatch something. Nice to break the goal drought and ultimately, undone by 2 of the best players in the world.

52% possession at the Etihad.

Yes, we lost, but there's much to be proud of.

Well done lads. :clap2:

Super proud - well done lads, extremely impressive stats, result aside, BUT we really did give it a go and I suspect we’re going to give Chelsea a real game... good, can’t wait.

Not a bad afternoon cleaning, having a walk in the park and going to Tesco. I see we're back to taking the positives.

What a truly wonderful competition the Premier League is and what a delight it is to be part of a group of 14 clubs who count a 3-1 defeat as a good thing. Long live the FA and UAE. Arise Sir Haaland.

Yeah, I’d agree with much of that, Sanchez did save very well from Mahrez, I felt we were making some great runs second half that weren’t seen by the man in possession. Easy from my armchair though. I’m desperate for that first win for Zerbi,

what annoys me is the inconsitency in the same game. Haarland bulldozes his man and scores and then Dunk is adjudged to be fouled for much less of a "foul" and gets a free kick
The penalty I think wasnt , he had lost the ball and then looked for contact, and then waved his leg around. Third goal was a beauty though

Thoroughly enjoyed that second half. More of that please.

First half was ok if a little pedestrian(from both sides to be fair) but that second was exciting and entertaining.

I feared a shellacking today but that was a very creditable performance. Lets go get that De Zerbi first win at home to Chelsea.

Oh yes, f*** VAR.

Thought we played really well there, a shambles of a officiating performance gifting City that penalty before half time pretty much put an end to the game as a contest, but we did our level best to make a game of it 2nd half. Nil points again, yes, but I'm hoping after the Chelsea game we can pick up some results as the football has generally been good. We just need someone other than Trossard to chip in with some goals.

Have to mention the good performance from Lamptey. Arguably it is what changed the game for the second half.

Did Potter not rate him? He looked quality, dangerous. Lots of dangerous runs and crosses. Slick passing.
Thought he and we played well today, but I think you'll find Lamptey was a Potter player and Roberto has since introduced Lamperty
