I looked now, and seriously...Get in the f***ing sea.

Gabriel's family has played a crucial role in his development, managing his career with superstardom in mind. His father....., changed the family's surname to Gabriel, making him more brandable.
More brandable? More pronounceable more like! All ready for Warren's commentaries on Radio Sussex when he leaves that shambles and heads south to a better club!

Here there and everywhere
I had to Google his dad, but I do remember him actually. Arsenal loanee, about 2006/7. Didn't he make his debut in a fa cup game v Wast ham at upton park? (A big draw at the time for us). Lost 3-0. A pretty un-spectacular player to put it mildly.

No idea how that side lost that game...

West Ham: Carroll, Dailly, Ferdinand, Gabbidon, McCartney, Benayoun, Mullins, Noble, Boa Morte, Cole (Zamora 68), Tevez.

Brighton: Henderson, O'Cearuill, Lynch, Butters, Mayo, Fraser, El-Abd, Hammond, Frutos, Revell, Robinson.

He Played INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL!?!?!?!?! God he was shit.
The best part of it is that his two international caps came in May 2007, so immediately on the back of his loan stint with us! (He made three appearances for the ROI U-21 side in Feb/March 2007 when he was with us on loan). Technically he might even have still been an Albioin-registered player when he got his full caps.

Perhaps because (bless him) Kerry Mayo was "marking" Carlos Tevez.

If my memory is correct first half Tevez was more central and Big Guy Butters had him in his pocket. 0-0 at half time. They moved Tevez out wide second half and unfortunately it wasn’t a repeat of Johnny Crumplin Football Genius vs John Barnes from 1991.

He was only on a short term loan, he returned to Arsenal in March 2007.

I think we wanted to loan him for the half season but the player only wanted a month by month deal and I’m sure the rules were that the longest a short term loan deal could be back then was 3 months so he had to return to Arsenal.

I can't remember whether Rio Ferdinand had similar difficulty, when we introduced Joe Gatting in the second half?

We've had quite a few - across a very wide range of abilities....

Keown
Dickov
Flatts
Sidwell
Barrett
O'Cearuill
Hoyte
Akpom
Shaaban!
Frank Stapleton - when he could only move with a zimmer frame?

O'Cearuill and Barrett were particulary awful, although neither was as bad as Gislason who I'd name as the worst Albion player I've seen (and there's some pretty stiff competition)

Stapleton played for us on a short term contract. He'd left Arsenal for Man United 13 years before he joined us and played for another 8 teams before joining us.

Tevez v Mayo lol.

I don't remember Joe O'C being THAT bad. But it was in an era of underwhelming loan signings. Gavin Hoyte and Ali John anyone?

The sort of loan spell so underwhelming it didn't even manage to get a shirt hung up outside the bogs in Dick's Bar

No, not a prospective signing. I just happened to spot this in the news about a 14 year old at Man United who is apparently one of the most sought after youngsters in Europe, with Barcelona after him amongst others. His name is JJ Gabriel.

They say footballing talent is often inherited through the genes, in which case JJ's mother must have been incredible. Because I've just discovered that his Dad is somebody who might well appear in a few people's Worst Albion XIs of all time.

Just for fun, and with no Googling: have a guess! :D
