i read this as City had used other companies in the city football group to basically move the debt accrued by the football clubs to other entities within the group, therefore giving them less debt on the books boosting then amount they can spend

Yeah I heard that today, after the headline yesterday. It's still a joke, with Real Madrid getting funded by the government. They spend far more than any English club ever has. The highest paid player in the Premier League was a Real Madrid player (on loan).

If City go down (which i cant believe will happen), assume one of Ipswich, Saints and Leicester avoid the drop? Or do all three go down and four come up?
If there was any justice, it would be four down, four up, since the bottom three have all been stinking out the league all season. But it'll probably be three down / three up with one of Ipswich or Leicester avoiding the drop, since no amount of monkeying around with points deductions would likely save Saints.

Having said that, I'd be very surprised if anything happens for all the reasons many people have expressed here already.

Yep. If they can appeal, they will. And on this goers with no resolution. What objectionable behaviour.

Could happen. Just relegating them would be a one year thing that would sound harsh, but in fact better than starting multiple points in the PL with point deductions or get banned from European football for a while
