They are from experts advising Government although Michael Gove advised he went for a jog yesterday and also a walk to the supermarket and back to get weekend provisions

Genuinely, apart from the very old and vulnerable, I thought it was made plain that we all can jog or cycle outdoors, as long as we don’t get within 2m of people not in our household, the same with grocery shopping?

Many folk seem to have completely misunderstood the UK’s lockdown ‘rules’, imagining something on a Wuhan basis.

We’ve been encouraged to exercise outdoors. Not least because fitter and healthier people have a better immune system.

That's what I thought when I just saw it. 257 in total and 235 of them just yesterday out of nowhere as you say.

I suspect there is an error with those figures.

As of yesterday Switzerland already had over 200 deaths

Grim news from Spain 838 deaths in last 24 hours

The number of cases is so high that it's no surprise that the daily death toll makes for grim reading. However, looking at the percentage increase, it's clear that lockdown measures are working.

Yep. But if everyone was capable of understanding these simple instructions the prime minister wouldn't have to write to everyone.

Don’t help when he catches it himself Along with the Chief medical officer and health minister not following the same set of rules .should be leading from the top

209 in the last 24 hours reported here. Though I suspect it's 23 hours.
24 hours, since it was Friday to Saturday. 23 hours will be the numbers released tomorrow.

Which they are clearly not. We were at the farm on Friday to buy our food shopping, and they were letting two people into the farm shop at a tme. Outside, they had put markings two metres apart so that people who were queueing knew where to stand and keep social distancing. There were some imbeciles who couldn't even stick to this, including a chap behind us, who stood around one metre behind us, looking vacantly at his mobile. I really felt like lumping him, but didn't as I may have got his spittle on my fist.

Sorry for the rant, but while most people are good, this crisis has shown that there is a significant minority of the UK population that have neither discipline, nor care for others. I fear it is due to a gradual descent into selfishness and lack of dicipline over the years. Given the lack of police numbers and the attitude of some teenagers (including round here), I am not sure that they could enforce the rules across the board even if they want to.

Aren’t we talking about it the other way round?

People/families not in risk groups, wrongly in the belief that this is an Wuhan style lockdown, and not out exercising and walking (2m from others). Countless physicians have stated on TV and radio that we can and should. A healthy body usually has a better immune system.

Obesity and poor mental health have been mentioned as threats to those unnecessarily staying indoors for months.

Who says 20,000 is a political target?

Just you I suspect, on your COVID-19 petty political campaign.

Even John McDonnell and the SNP have (in the main) been great in their unity with all other parties during this crisis.

You’re out on your own. Not the time to be a bitter class warrior.

Sadly, he's not quite on his own, there are one or two more lurking in the less savoury parts of NSC.

Ah the paywall! Thanks anyway!

This is good news anyway, the new cases have levelled off last 3 days.

If they are only counting people who have been ill enough to go to hospital though, i wonder what the real number of cases we’ve had in the UK is, could easily be 10, 20 or even more times the total we know.
