I think the Premier League will be completed, but the last few fixtures will be played in empty stadiums.
From what has been said it seems that crowds at sporting fixtures will be banned but the authorities want to delay it as long as possible to avoid any sudden impact to the economy and peoples behaviour.
But it's coming.....

That's where I am too, as I posted on the main thread on this subject a day or so back.

Personal concern - very little.
Concern for others, and wider society for a period of time - quite a lot.

I went for a run in Worthing today that took me along the seafront through the middle of Worthing. The number of frail old people I saw who must be absolutely shitting it based on the statistics of deaths based on age should this spread as the experts are suggesting is all but inevitable.

Everyone must be to a degree. However In 2017, over 42,000 people died from heart and circulatory diseases in the UK before the age of 75, a rise of just over 3 per cent on the 41,042 in 2014. Among under-65s, there were 18,668 deaths in 2017, up almost 4 per cent on the 17,982 five years.

My only concern at the moment is just how many people are needlessly panicking and the impact it may have. Like rocking a boat, they’re going to take us all down with such selfish hysterical behaviour. Too few people are seemingly able to keep calm and carry on. Makes me ashamed of my fellow countryman, we used to be world renowned for our resilience but now we’re no different.

Are they panicking? Being overly cautious isn't the same as panicking.

The best snooker players are looking at the whole table, project forward, thinking 3,4,5 shots ahead, they don't just pot the ball then worry what next.

As a few have said here today, right now there is nothing to get worried about in the UK statistically, and for the young guns on here possibly nothing much even if they catch it, but we've all got family, some elderely and it's all that which can cause at least a little angst. Looking at the big picture and projecting forward a bit it's not a stretch to consider a much worsening picture.

I think it's healthy to prepare for the worst whilst hoping for the best. It's why we buy travel insurance etc.

Not me personally but I've got a 2 week old daughter that I'm bricking it for, parents are in their 70s so worried about them, sister runs a care company looking after the elderly so worried about not only her health but her income as well if half her clients are wiped out.

Then again I am a worrier.

Have you ever thought about combating your worries by opening a Funeral Parlour. Just as a safety net in case all of your other worries come to fruition ?

The organisers themselves have said no such thing. Today have reiterated current UK government advice "The Government’s current advice is that all mass events should still go ahead", and said they will continue to monitor things.

(I personally doubt it will go ahead, but that's not what is being said today)

How are you preparing exactly? Anything beyond washing your hands more, and even then you’re proBably for the first time in your life doing it properly, could be considered panicking. Shops suddenly having a run on products is most definitely panicking. As said, don’t have a problem with people stockpiling until you’ve got 1000 cans of beans and I’ve got none because of. That’s not being overly cautious or prepared, it’s a documentary hoarder.

nah. we are still living in singapore so been in the middle of this for months already, our government here have a much better handle on it than bojo and co.

Done a great job of curtailing the initial outbreak as did Thailand. Whats the local view there about your very warm climate?? Is there any proof or at least people saying that the Warmer weather is helping to keep transmission lower?

Think a good few here are hoping, like the flu, warmer temps will help the cause?

I’d say I’m getting concerned, yes. I run a small business and we rely on myself and every member of staff to keep it going along with the whole supply chain.
I’m concerned for our parents who are in the higher risk category.
It’s a new virus with a vaccine approx 18 months away.
I’m not panicking but I am taking a few sensible steps to try and ensure we can carry on if things get bad as we have no option to stop trading.

We don't want to see it anywhere near that level again.

Will this be that virus? Unless there is something more sinister afoot we’re not being told here then I rather suspect it won’t be.
